Gefjun Gudrun fra Lundshøjgaard is a lovely young Icelandic mare with a calm, sensible temperament and a kind nature. She has grown up in a herd, living outside 24/7 with plenty of movement, social contact and varied terrain. This upbringing has given her a good foundation: she is steady, uncomplicated in daily handling, and used to being part of a natural horse life. Gefjun also has an interesting pedigree and potential as a future broodmare. Her sire is Oskar fra Flekkudal, a first-class assessed Icelandic stallion with exciting bloodlines from Iceland. Her dam line is also very valuable: her maternal grandsire is Jon fra Tyrevoldsdal, known for strong quality bloodlines, and her maternal granddam is Asta fra Nøddegården, who traces back to rare lines from North Iceland. This gives Gefjun more than just potential as a leisure and trail horse — she may also be interesting for someone who values good Icelandic breeding, rare bloodlines and a mare who can combine a calm, sensible temperament with future breeding potential. Gefjun is easy to catch, halter accustomed, barefoot, and has been trained carefully from the ground. She has done groundwork and has already had a rider sit on her back without any problems. She is not fully broken in yet, but she is well prepared for the next step and ready to continue her education with a patient and thoughtful owner. She is a 4-gaited mare with good potential as an all-round leisure horse. With further training, she should make a wonderful trail horse for someone who dreams of peaceful rides, nature treks and exploring the countryside with a steady, honest partner. She is cool and grounded rather than sharp or stressful, which makes her especially interesting for a rider who wants to build confidence and grow together with their horse. Gefjun could be an ideal match for a previous rider returning after a break, or for a family looking for a kind young mare to educate carefully for the future. Once fully trained and experienced, her calm temperament means she may also become suitable for younger riders or children under proper supervision. She is also a good companion horse, as she is used to herd life and understands horse communication well. She is healthy, has had no eczema and no known illnesses. She will of course be vet checked before leaving us and will be sold with a protective contract, because the right home matters very much. Gefjun is for someone who values temperament, trust and a natural upbringing — a horse to develop slowly, correctly and with joy. Serious enquiries are warmly welcome. Gefjun is looking for a kind, knowledgeable home where she can continue her education slowly and correctly, become part of a herd, and grow into the lovely leisure and trail horse she is meant to be. The price is 7200 euro, but finding the right home is important for us Please contact us if you feel Gefjun could be the right match for you. Tell us a little about yourself, your experience, and the home you can offer her.
