How can I change my contact details?

Your address, telephone number and name are always stored with us for each account. If you want to change your contact details, log in to your account and go to My Account and Personal Data in the My ehorses section. There, you can change your title, first and last name, street & house number, postcode & town, telephone number, date of birth and email address.

I have forgotten my password, what can I do?

If you cannot log in because you have forgotten your password, go to the Forgotten Your Password option. You will then need to enter the email address you used to create your account. A new password will be sent to this address, which you can change immediately if necessary.

How can I change my payment methods?

In your account, you will find the item Payment Data under My Account. Here, you can change your data at any time.

Why does ehorses need my payment data?

Online bookings, like additional packages etc., can be paid by direct debit, credit card or PayPal. In order to facilitate the placement of advertisements, you should enter your data here. Of course, the data transmitted will be encrypted and cannot be viewed by us. If you are unable to use any of the payment methods, please contact our support team at support@ehorses.de or by phone at +49 (0) 54 01 – 88 13 200.

How can I register?

When you visit ehorses, you will see the Register option in the menu. There, you can either log in with your existing data or register again. To do this, set your email and password and enter your contact details.

How do I receive an invoice?

You will find all your invoices under My ehorses at My Account and Invoices.

How can I deactivate/delete my account?

If you wish, you can deactivate your account on ehorses permanently. To do this, you need to log in and select Personal Data via My ehorses. There, you can deactivate your account permanently.

What payment options do I have on ehorses?/How does payment work?

You can choose from several payment options. You can use either a SEPA direct debit mandate or your credit card as a payment option. In order for the payment to proceed smoothly, you must enter your payment data in your user account. To do this, log in and select My ehorses, then select My Account. Here, you will find a tab for payment data. In addition, you can also pay for an advertisement in the basic area via PayPal.

Why should I enter my telephone number?

To increase your chances of selling. The faster any potential buyers can reach you, the better your chances of selling are. Therefore, you should provide your phone number as well as your email address to answer buyers’ questions quickly and easily.

How can I create an advertisement on ehorses?

Register, fill in the form and post – then, you’re done!

  1. Set your credentials: Register with your email address.
    2. What do you want to advertise? Whether you want to sell a horse, a foal, a stallion, a riding event or a request, you can choose the appropriate category and fill in the corresponding form.
    3. Have you filled in the form completely? Now, you can highlight your advertisement with one of the additional options, or activate the advertisement immediately. You will automatically receive an email through the email address you entered previously with all the data of your horse advertisement. It can take up to 20 minutes until the advertisement is visible in the search results, as the server takes a while to process. After that, you can find your horse on ehorses using the detailed search or the ad ID.

How long does an advertisement run on ehorses?

In the basic area, horse advertisements run for 90 days. In the premium area, the duration is unlimited. Classified ads, riding events and requests run for 180 days. After this period, the advertisement can be extended for a fee.

Is an advertisement on ehorses free of charge?

Advertising on ehorses is free of charge for two advertisements per year. However, in order for you to reach even more interested parties with your ad, we offer you some attractive additional options. You can book these for individual advertisements at any time. There are no ongoing costs involved with a one-off booking. You can find more information here.

How do I edit my advertisement?

In your account, you can edit, pause or delete your advertisements at any time. Simply log in and go to My Ads. Select the pencil symbol to enter the edit mode for the respective ad.

What can I do if my ad has expired?

Do you want to renew your expired horse advertisement? No problem. As soon as your horse advertisement has expired, you will receive a notification email from us. In this email, you will find a link with which you can repost or renew your advertisement for €14.99. Alternatively, you can log into your account, call up your completed advertisements and reactivate the completed advertisement with the arrow shown there.

How do I pause my advertisement?

In your account under My Ads, you have an overview of all ads currently active. Below the preview image, there is a pause symbol with which you can pause the respective advertisement at any time. You will also find paused advertisements in the corresponding category via the filter and you can reactivate them from there.

ATTENTION: The duration of the advertisements continues to run even if the advertisement is paused.

How do I delete my advertisement?

In your account, you can edit, pause or delete your advertisements at any time. Simply log in and go to My Ads. Select the trashcan symbol to delete the corresponding advertisement.

What does the heart in the ad mean?

The heart symbol in your ad represents the watch list. Every user who is logged in can watch advertisements in order to look at them again later. The provider does not see who has watched the advertisement and cannot prevent users from viewing it.

You can place an advertisement on the watch list yourself by clicking on “Watch” in the advertisement.

How do I find my advertisement in the search results?

Each ad is given an individual ad ID. With this ID, you can track your ad on ehorses at any time. Enter this number in the search box on the homepage or in the detailed search. If your advertisement cannot be found, please contact our support team at support@ehorses.de or by phone at +49 (0) 54 01 – 88 13 200.

How does my horse get on the ehorses Facebook page?

In order to feature your horse on the ehorses Facebook page, you have to book the “Platinum” extra package, which includes this feature. You can find an overview of all additional options and prices here.

How does my horse get on the ehorses Instagram page?

In order to get your horse featured on the ehorses Instagram page, you need to book the “Platinum” extra package that includes this feature. You can find an overview of all additional options and prices here.

How does my horse get into the ehorses newsletter?

In order to have your horse featured in the ehorses newsletter, you need to book the additional “Gold” or “Platinum” package, which includes this feature. You can find an overview of all additional options and prices here.

My ad has expired - What can I do?

If you would like to extend your expired horse advertisement, it’s no problem. As soon as your horse advertisement has expired, you will receive a notification email from us. In this email, you will find a link where you can repost or renew your advertisement.

How can I upload photos and videos?

Photos can be uploaded directly when you place your advertisement, and they can also be added later. You have two options when posting a video:

1. Upload the original file, the video should not exceed 20 GB and it should be in one of the common file formats.
2. Embedding a YouTube link: To do this, simply copy the URL of the video on YouTube and insert it at the appropriate place in the advertisement. Make sure that the video is publicly visible on YouTube.

How can I optimise my ad? Is there any assistance with the sale?

When creating your ad, please make sure that all details are correct and complete. Has your horse already had some success at competitions? Is the pedigree of the horse significant? You should enter these details in the advertisement. It is also very important to provide attractive pictures and videos. Naturally, you should then offer the horse at a reasonable price and you should consider choosing extra options. This means that your ad will be clicked on more often and it will appear in the newsletter or on Facebook and Instagram (if you have booked). How do I receive my invoice?

Invoicing is done exclusively by electronic means. You will find all your invoices under My ehorses, in My Account and Invoices.

Where can I see my old invoices?

You can see your old invoices by logging into your account and clicking on Invoices under My Account. In the invoice overview, you can select the month and year.

Where do I change my invoice details?

You can change your bank details by logging into your account and going to My Account and Payment Details. There, you can choose whether you want to pay via SEPA direct debit or credit card and you can also adjust your payment details at any time.

Unfortunately, the Internet is not completely free from fraudsters these days. By creating a new email address, it is easy for fraudsters to place new advertisements. Fraudsters often offer high-quality horses at very favourable terms. Every prospective buyer can check whether a product is really being offered at such a low price or whether it is a scam ad by means of a few criteria. The following criteria will help you to recognise a fraudulent advertisement:

  • The price of the product is too low.
  • There is conflicting data within the advertisement.
  • Data (e.g. the telephone number) is incorrect.

How do I search for horses according to my specific requirements?

You can use the ehorses detailed search to find horses of interest to you according to very specific criteria (e.g., height, age, colour, type, etc.).

How do I create a watch list?

You can mark advertisements of interest with the little heart symbol within the advertisement. You will then automatically find them on your watch list. Log in and go to your account under My ehorses* (a local host file). There you will find My Watch List* (a local host file), where you will be able to find the marked advertisements again.

Can I create a search request?

Do you have a very precise idea of your dream horse? You can optimise your search via the search form (the start page or the detail page). You can save your search so that you don’t have to enter the details again each time. To do this, adjust the search form according to your wishes and display the current search results. Under the window, you will find the option to save your search. You can also receive an email notification when a new advertisement that matches your search is online.

How can I contact the seller?

If you have found an interesting ad, you can use the message field directly in the ad. You will find the field in the lower part of the advertisement page, below the description text for the horse. You can send the suggested message to the seller or edit the text yourself. Provide sufficient information about yourself, your level of experience with horses and any other questions you may have. Ideally, you should also give the seller your telephone number, as this will make the contact process quick and easy.

Simply go to Contact Seller and enter your request in the field.

Attention: If you are already logged in, your contact details will be already entered in the box.

My question has not been answered. What can I do?

Give the seller a little time to react to your enquiry. Occasionally, the answer comes a couple of days later. Give the seller a few days to answer your question. After that, you can try to reach them by phone.

How can I submit a request?

Are you looking for your dream horse and don’t have the time or inclination to read through all the different advertisements? Then, the free ehorses search function offers you a new option: Submit your request according to your requirements and let our sellers recommend your potential dream horse. Attention: Only ehorses PREMIUM customers can see your request.

How can I complain about advertisements?

In every advertisement, there is a warning triangle symbol. With this symbol, you can directly draw our attention to the fact that the advertisement or the seller seems “strange” to you. Otherwise, you can also contact our telephone support. Please have the advertisement ID ready.

What is the placement service?

The placement service is an option offered by ehorses, where we take over the placement of the advertisement for you. With the help of a placement form, you send us all relevant data about the horse as well as your contact details. You can also send us pictures and videos. We will then create the advertisement in your account and book additional options if you wish. For this service, we charge €19,99 per advertisement in the basic area.

How can I place a classified ad with ehorses?

You can place up to 30 free classified ads on ehorses. After that, each additional classified ad costs €1,99. The listings can include horse accessories, riding holidays or real estate related to horses and much more. On the ehorses homepage, choose the menu item Classified Ads and click on the item Advertise Now. To advertise, you need a user account. The first step is to select the relevant category and then you can enter a description text with the price and upload pictures. You can also book additional options for classified ads.

Is a classified ad on ehorses free of charge?

You can create up to 30 classified ads per year free of charge. Each additional classified ad costs €1.99. If you want to upgrade your classified ads, you can also book additional options.

How to recognise fraudulent classified ads?

Every prospective buyer can check whether a product is genuinely being offered at such a low price or whether it is a scam ad on the basis of a few criteria. Who pays the shipping costs when selling?

In principle, we advise you to always search near you and pay cash on the spot. Only when you’re there in person will you be able to check the reliability of the seller and see if the item is really what you expect.

If this is not possible, for example, because you cannot find anything in your area, we recommend a secure payment method, such as PayPal.

Here the buyer and seller are left to decide who pays the shipping costs. Usually, the buyer pays the shipping costs.

How do I trade safely?

The ehorses classified ads are an online marketplace and work like the advertisement section in a newspaper. Buyer and seller come together, negotiate, buy and sell.
ehorses does not take part in any transaction. In many cases, the goods are collected personally and paid for on the spot.

Can I reserve items?

ehorses does not offer a separate reservation function. However, we have the following tips for you:

Sellers: If an article is reserved but you are still waiting for payment, for example, we recommend that you begin the title of the advertisement with “Reserved”. This way, potential buyers still have the chance to find out all the details of the ad.

Buyers: If you are interested in an item, we recommend that you save all details with a screenshot in case the seller deactivates or deletes the ad at an early stage.

Why should I take out a "Premium (Plus)" account?

Our premium area is intended for sellers who have several horses, or for those who have horses to sell repeatedly. Do you want to sell more than 4 horses per year? Then test our premium area and use the benefits for all your advertisements!

What is the "Premium Homepage"?

Not all sellers are able to run their own website, but with ehorses they can! We offer every seller in our premium area the basic framework for their own website. Not only can you present an overview of your horses for sale, but sellers also have the opportunity to introduce themselves. We are happy to help you with the setup of your “Premium Homepage”, just contact us.

How can I integrate ehorses advertisements into my website?

In the Premium area, ehorses offers the ability to integrate a ready-made “HTML snippet” into your website. If this is installed on your website, you simply need to advertise your horses on ehorses and they will be automatically displayed on your website.

How/where can I change my contact details?

In your account under My Account, you will find the item Personal Data. You can change your details there at any time.

How can I edit my payment details?

In your account under My Account, you will find the item Payment Data. Here you can change your data at any time.

How do I receive my invoice?

Invoicing is all done electronically. You can view the invoices at any time in your account under My Account – Invoices, and also download them as PDF files.

Why does ehorses need my payment data?

With the Premium (Plus) package you pay a monthly fixed amount in the different models. This amount is debited by direct debit or credit card. You can save the data with us. The data will, of course, be encrypted and cannot be viewed by us. If you cannot use any of the payment methods, please contact our customer support. Where can I find my contract data?

You will find your current contract data in your account when you have logged in. Click on My ehorses and under My Account, you will find the contract data.

How do I pause my Premium (Plus) account?

If you currently have no horses for sale, you can pause your account for up to 3 months per year. Your account can be set as “paused” for up to 3 months at the beginning of each month. Within this break, you will not incur any monthly costs. Your contract term will be adjusted according to the break you have taken. How can I cancel my Premium (Plus) Account?

In order to terminate your Premium (Plus) Account properly, please first adhere to the notice periods. You can find these in your contract data (see question 8). Please submit a written notice of termination by post, fax or email in due time. You will receive confirmation of the termination to the email address you have provided. If you do not receive a confirmation within one week, please contact us directly (email: premium@ehorses.de or phone: +49 (0) 54 01 – 88 13 204). Important: Please keep proof of sending until the cancellation is confirmed.

I have cancelled my account - why was money deducted anyway?

The invoice is always issued retrospectively. For example, the invoice for the month of September is not issued until October.

What can I do if my account has been blocked?

Please contact us, ideally giving us the email address of your account, so that we can help you promptly.

Why am I no longer entitled to a trial period?

Double profiles/accounts are not possible. If you have already taken advantage of one trial period of ehorses Premium, you are not entitled to another. Please get in touch with us for this purpose.

What is the safest method of payment?

We recommend that you make purchases via PayPal. With PayPal, you have the possibility to reclaim your money in case of fraud (please ALWAYS use the option Money for goods or services in your PayPal account and NOT money to friends & family). If you paid with PayPal, please use the Conflict Resolution option directly with PayPal.

Why does ehorses need my payment details?

Online bookings, like additional packages, etc., can be paid by direct debit, credit card or PayPal. In order to facilitate the placement of advertisements, you should enter your data online. The data will, of course, be transmitted in encrypted form and cannot be viewed by us. If you are unable to use any of the payment methods, please contact our support team at support@ehorses.de or by phone at +49 (0) 54 01 – 88 13 200.

I have transferred money but have not received any goods?

Not everything can be considered fraudulent. Please note that it may take a few days to transfer the money and ship the goods. If you have any questions, try to contact the seller and, in the case of parcels, ask the post office to give you the tracking number. Insured parcels must always be tracked using the tracking number.

Have you been waiting for delivery for a disproportionately long time and not received any clear feedback from the sale?

Set a final deadline for the seller to send the paid goods or to refund the purchase price.

  1. Report the matter to our customer service so that they can check the seller.
    2. Finally, if there is no longer any chance of your money being refunded, file a complaint with the police, giving all the details, such as the number of the advertisement, the seller’s bank details, telephone number and email address, etc.

ehorses itself does not offer a buyer protection programme or escrow service. Never pay by Western Union, PaySafe, MoneyGram, cash on delivery or cash in an envelope.

I suspect a third party has had access to my account. What should I do now?

Have you noticed that things have happened to your user account that you have not initiated? For example:

  • You have received a notification that your email address has been changed or someone wants to change your password.
  • There are suddenly ads online in your account that are not yours.
  • You notice that messages have been sent via your account that are not from you.

In all of these cases, you should be suspicious and take action! It is likely that someone has gained unauthorised access to your account. If this is the case, check your mobile device for viruses, Trojans, etc., with an up-to-date anti-virus program as soon as possible. If possible, change your ehorses password immediately. If this is not possible, please contact ehorses support.

How do I protect my personal information?

Cybercrime is increasing all the time. Therefore, please protect your personal information and make sure that you never give your data to unauthorised persons.
Never give unauthorised persons access to data, such as your password, email address or other personal information. Someone could log into your account and create unauthorised advertisements, sell things or write spam messages on your behalf. Account details should never be given out without authorisation.

What is a secure email address?

Set up your email account with a reputable and secure email provider. You should also set up a security question so that you can retrieve it in the event of unauthorised access. You should also provide a mobile phone number to confirm important activities.

What does a secure password look like?

A secure password ideally consists of at least ten characters, preferably a mix of upper and lower case letters. Also, use special characters and numbers in your password.

How do I recognise fraudulent advertisements?

What do I do if I have found a fraudulent ad? Can I report it?

In every detailed view of an ad at ehorses there is a Complain button on the right-hand side. You can use this button to send the ad directly to our customer services department. We will check it within a few hours and if there are any grounds for suspicion, we will immediately block the provider.

Why can't I see my new pictures?

If you have uploaded new pictures and do not see them at first glance, you may have to clear your cache. This can be done with the key combination: Ctrl + F5.

Why does my video have no sound?

As there are no usage rights for the background music often used in videos, all videos at ehorses are played without sound. Your video will only be played with sound if you integrate a YouTube link.

Can I rotate pictures and videos when they are upside down?

To do this, go to the edit mode of the advertisement. You will find the images you have posted under the item Images/Videos. At the top left of each picture, you will find a pen symbol. With this, you can enter the picture editing mode. Here, you can rotate the pictures.

If you have taken your video with a mobile device (e.g. a smartphone or tablet), you might have filmed in landscape format and turned the device in the wrong direction. Make sure that you rotate the device 90 degrees counterclockwise when recording.
