Durango
Durango is a 6-year-old, 16-hand registered Morgan/Freisian gelding with an excellent start and a heart of gold. He’s been in the same family for the past two years, but due to the owner’s demanding work schedule, he hasn’t been ridden consistently. As a result, he’s still green—but incredibly kind, honest, and ready to go in the right hands. Think project type but kind. Durango walked right up our bridge and through the pool noodles without hesitation. Talk about willing!
Durango does leg yields, counter canter, shoulder-in/out, and lengthening. The main focus to the new buyer should be on a steady collection and straightness. He’s a forward-thinking type who wants to please and tries hard to get it right. He’s also shown natural talent in his first cross-country outing—happily tackling ditches, logs, banks, and water with no fuss.
While he still needs formal training—particularly in developing a steady connection—Durango has the brain, movement, and stamina to shine in Dressage, Eventing, or Combined Driving. He is not for a beginner, but would be an exciting project for an experienced or ambitious rider looking to bring a willing horse up the levels.
