Roxy is a 14.3 hand, registered 2020 model AQHA mare that’s the complete definition of SAFE, GENTLE and BEGINNER FRIENDLY. She has a beautiful red roan coat, with a kind bright eye, and the most willing, quiet attitude you could ever want. With Roxy’s real-world experience, it makes her a great partner for almost anyone to learn and to love on, whether you’re a beginner, senior rider, or experienced horseman. Her sweet and forgiving personality will be sure to shine through at all times making her very desirable to be around.
She will never fail at making sure her rider feels safe. Whether you’re riding in an arena, out on the trail, or out in the wide open, Roxy will always keep the same level head one should. She has seen tons of miles of trails where she has crossed creeks and high water, navigated her way through thick wooded areas, crossed fallen down logs, and safely traveled down busy roadways. We’ve yet to find anything that seems to ever phase Roxy, she always does what is asked of her without any hesitation. She never gets spooky and stays calm in all situations. When it comes to riding out alone or in a group, Roxy doesn’t mind- she’ll happily do whatever makes her rider feel comfortable. On our farm Roxy has been used to check cows and ride fence lines- making her a versatile mount that’s completely capable of carrying out a job too. Roxy has good gaits at a walk, trot, and canter and knows her leads.
On the ground her manners are just has great has they are on her back. She is easy to catch when turned out, stands tied quietly to be saddled, and loves a good spa day to be bathed and groomed on. Roxy will also stand patiently for her rider to get on, whether you’re mounting from the ground or a mounting block. She does fantastic for the farrier- (she’s currently shod on the front, and trimmed on the back). Trailering her is a breeze, she loads and unloads perfectly. Out in the pasture she gets along well with a mixed herd, or she does good out alone. Roxy is a well desensitized and confident horse that’s been exposed thoroughly to everyday obstacles and a wide variety of different animals- dogs, cows, water buffalo, donkeys, and goats that like to sporadically jump around from time to time.
