He’s a fabulous trail horse and has all the ingredients to become a great ranch versatility horse. I bought Turbo when he was five years old and he had only about 90 days of riding on him. I live in Minnesota, so he spent his first winter with me doing what those of us in the frozen tundra do best—stand around and wait for spring. When the snow finally melted, I took him out to lunge him. He came completely uncorked. Oh my. That horse can buck. I stood there wondering if I really wanted to get on. I'm 59 years old and, if we're being honest, a bit of a chicken. So instead, I spent a few weeks doing groundwork. During that time, I thought, "He's so pretty and learns tricks so fast, he could be an entertainment act at a rodeo. And if that doesn't work out, he could always join the bucking string." When I finally did climb on, he rode around like he'd been doing it his whole life—gentle as a lamb. I rode him on and off throughout 2025. Then, in October, my good horse stepped in a gopher hole the day before the Top Hand Cowgirl Challenge (one cowgirl, one horse, five events). I was already entered in the Everyday Cowgirl Clinic, the Master Class Clinic, and the Challenge itself. So I marched out to the pasture and hollered at Turbo, "You're up, Dude." This was his very first trip to town. He had seen cattle at home, but he'd never been around 60 other horses. He'd never seen a trail course in an indoor arena under bright lights. He'd been around barrels in our arena, but never with loud music and a crowd in the stands. We didn't place, but Turbo handled it all like a champ. After that, he spent another winter turned out. The following spring, when I lunged him, he had a shorter bucking fit—but still got some air. Like… better than a snowboarder at the Olympics. I'm telling you, this horse is an athlete. He can go from flat-footed to airborne in a nano-second. It was honestly impressive. Turbo is not a kid's horse, and isn't finished yet. But with consistent riding, I believe he'll make someone an outstanding partner. He has never bucked or bolted with me on him. He rides out well alone, doesn't crib, and is easy to catch. In fact, he comes when called and does tricks on command. He does paw when tied because patience is not one of his many talents. He loves people and wants to be part of whatever you're doing. He is current on vaccinations, dental care, and hoof trimming. He has never worn shoes. I guarantee him sound. I think he paddles slightly with his front feet. I see it, but I am picky. see the video, x-rays and PPE I don’t think Turbo would place in a ranch conformation class due to a birth defect on his left hindquarter. It does not affect him in any way, and you can't see it unless you're specifically looking for it under his tail. See picture. If you're looking for a horse with personality, athletic ability, and eager to please, come ride him. You can take him on trails, go up and down hills, and cross the creek right here on our place. Shipping can be arranged nationwide or I can deliver to Western Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota for a fee.
