Pecos Bill ist kräftig genug, um einen Erwachsenen zu tragen, denn Mama hat Pecos Bill auf die Ranch mitgenommen, wo sie kranke Tiere auf der Weide angeseilt und verarztet hat, Rinder gehütet hat und die Kinder fast täglich auf den Pfaden geritten sind! Pecos Bill überquert Bäche, Gräben und Baumstämme und kommt auch durch unwegsames, felsiges Gelände. Er hat einen schönen Schritt, einen sanften Jog, einen guten langsamen Lope, er lässt sich herumführen und auch rückwärts reiten! Er hat alle Arten von Wildtieren kennengelernt und wird überall hingehen, wo man ihn hinschickt. Er ist viele Meilen in den Bergen von Ost-Kentucky geritten und hat dabei alle möglichen Hindernisse auf dem Weg überwunden. Er geht selbst die steilsten Hänge hinauf und hinunter, über tiefe Bäche, über umgestürzte Bäume und über alle Arten von unwegsamem Gelände und ist dabei immer noch trittsicher. All fall and winter long Pecos Bill has been one of our 6 year old daughters horse and she has trail ridden him, took him camping, had around the ranch and pushed cows with him. Pecos Bill has been the perfect horse for her! Pecos Bill is plenty stout enough to carry an adult as Mom has taken Pecos Bill out on the ranch, where she has pasture roped and doctored sick ones, herded cattle and the kids have ridden down the trails almost daily! Pecos Bill will cross creeks, ditches, logs and navigate rough rocky areas. He has a nice walk, smooth jog, a good slow lope, he reins around and backs as well! He has been exposed to all kinds of wildlife and will go anywhere that he is asked too. He has been ridden many miles in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky and encountered every obstacle possible on the trail. He will go up or down even the steepest slopes, across deep creeks, over downed trees, and over all types of rough terrain while still being sure footed.
