Welsh Quarter Cross Gelding

Piston is a 4 year old bay roan welsh pony quarter horse cross gelding. He stands 55 inches or 13.3 hands tall.

I have had Piston for over two years. I’ve done all the training on him from halter breaking him to lead, saddling and riding him to harness and hitching him to the buggy. I have been the only trainer he has had for two years.

I have hauled piston to lots of events, barrel races, rodeo just to ride him in the warm-up arena ‘s and parking lots and of course I’ve always had to show him off and impressed the kids with the laydown trick.

I have been shooting off of him for over a year. He is an awesome shooting horse. He will not Duck or veer off and will stay true on the rundown.

Piston’s got a good one hand neck rein and a stop to die for. He loves to drag his butt and it’s very smooth.

Piston is an awesome pulling horse. He handles all equipment very good with no problem. He will lean into the collar for an easy start and can stop it with no problems. If you can hold the driving lines, you can drive piston. He’s very easy to get along with.

Piston is finished on the laydown Trick and started on the sit-up as well.

I have taken him and used him outside, penning cattle up out of the woods and brush country. He is not scared of any Livestock or wildlife that you may come up on. He crosses water, bridges, logs with ease. He is very highway traffic safe. He can be a little tricky to catch in a big pasture. Nothing bad just aggravating lol he is easy to wash, load, saddle, bridle you name it. He’s a good boy for just a four-year-old. He has had lots of miles on him. He ties very great with no issues. He gets along great with others in the pasture or side-by-side while being hauled on a trailer no kicking no fighting. He is very sweet to his neighbor.

I trust this little horse 100% and he has got a heart the size of Texas. He is always willing and ready for a full day’s work no matter what the task is.

He’s a one-of-a-kind little guy. I know he’s still young, but he is very smart and wants to please. He is very reliable and the same Horse every time you catch him. He is a young horse with an old soul.

I have started roping the dummy off of him and he is tracking it very well and handling everything with ease.

Piston is ready to go on and do whatever you want to do with him. He has enough handle and control to go any direction if you wanted a little play day horse or a 4H project or just wanna have fun on the trails or along beside the highway, he is a good boy.
