Seasoned on the trail, a “been there, seen that” kind of horse. Dillon is an 18 yr old, Buckskin, QH gelding, standing 14.3 hands tall. Dillon rides out alone or settles happily into a group, content to follow along all day at whatever pace you set. He would easily be something you could put a less experienced rider on to pony along/have them follow & not have to worry. Water, downfall, steep inclines, and bridges are all taken in stride. We’ve hauled Dillon to state parks for day rides, and he always delivers a steady, enjoyable experience. He’s the same mount whether you’re exploring wooded paths or taking leisurely rides across open country.

My daughter has ridden Dillon bareback through town, down the streets, up ramps, and even down steps without a worry. Traffic, semis, bicycles, none of it phases him. On cold, windy days that might unsettle a younger horse, Dillon saddles up and rides off across open pastures relaxed and steady. He offers an easy walk, trot, and canter, picks up his leads , yet naturally a more “whoa” than “go” style. Uncomplicated to ride & tolerant of mixed cues.

Dillon is a pleasure to have around the farm. He can be stalled or perfectly content living outside 24/7 in a mixed herd. Typically lower on the pecking order and drama-free. He gets along with anything we’ve turned him out with. And my favorite quality, he is incredibly easy to catch. I often joke that he catches me. If he sees me step outside or hears my truck coming down the drive, he’s already on his way to meet me. He loads and hauls with ease, enjoys grooming, and is simply one you don’t mind to have around.
