When it comes to proven barrel horses, it is hard to find one with the pedigree, earnings, consistency, and heart that Cagen brings to the table. Sired by the legendary Frenchmans Guy, the $20 Million Dollar sire who needs no introduction, and out of Love Ta Dash 123 (PE: $80,000+), a daughter of the great Dash Ta Fame, Cagen represents one of the most successful crosses in the barrel racing industry. With an LTE: $72,500+, he has spent his career running alongside some of the best and proving himself every step of the way.
Cagen is a stunning liver chestnut gelding who keeps his dapples nearly year-round. His unique facial marking makes him instantly recognizable, while his big-boned, stout-made build is a reminder of the kind that is becoming harder and harder to find. More importantly, he possesses twice the heart and try of most horses out there. Cagen wants to win just as badly as his rider does and gives everything he has every time he enters the arena.
As a true 1D/2D automatic gelding, Cagen is simple, honest, and easy to run. Drop your hand at the turn and let him do his job. He has competed in every type of setup imaginable, from indoor pens to outdoor arenas, and remains the same dependable competitor regardless. He is not a barrel hitter, does not try to cheat a turn, and is easy to warm up. He is quiet in the holding pens, and confident in the alleyway. Just keep him legged up during the week and go enjoy your weekends. He hauls by himself or with other horses good. He loads himself in the trailer and backs right out. Travels and stalls great, rolls in his shavings immediately and settles right in. He does not crib or weave.
Outside of competition, Cagen is equally enjoyable. He rides well outside the arena, crosses water, handles traffic, and navigates obstacles with confidence. With a résumé a mile long and plenty left in the tank, Cagen is ready to continue competing at a high level. He would make an exceptional mount for an experienced youth looking to excel in High School Rodeo or for anyone wanting a proven, honest barrel horse capable of taking them to the pay window.
