Bruce — The Blue Roan Draft Cross that will take you anywhere
13 years old • 15.1 hands • Blue Roan • Draft Cross • Built stout
Some horses just make life easier, and Bruce is one of them. He’s a blue roan draft cross with a calm, steady presence that makes riding enjoyable, whether you’re out working or taking a quiet trail ride.
If you’ve been looking for a horse that is broke, safe, gentle, and confidence-building, Bruce checks every box. He has been the go-to mount here for company riders, beginners, and anyone who wants a smooth, reliable partner—and he always takes care of his person.
He’s seen real ranch obstacles and plenty of unusual things that make most horses hesitate:
tarps blowing in the wind, flags, tires, bridges, pool noodles, bouncy balls, dogs underfoot, cattle moving around him, and town traffic. Bruce stays relaxed, keeps his head, and simply walks right on through.
He also has true ranch experience — he’s been used to gather cattle and has stood quiet at brandings. He understands a job, stays out of your way, and remains dependable when things get busy.
On the trail he’s confident and sure-footed, and he rides in the arena correct and easy, just like a good lesson horse. He neck reins, stops soft, moves off your leg, and lopes smooth, balanced circles that are comfortable for any rider. Just swing a leg over and go — he keeps things simple.
He’ll cross water, step over logs, push through brush, and handle rocky or uneven ground without thinking twice. Whether he’s riding out alone or with other horses, Bruce stays consistent from the first step to the last.
He ties, trailers, shoes, bathes, stands to mount, and meets you at the gate. He’s an easy keeper, good in a stall or turned out, and gets along well with other horses.
Bruce is the kind of gelding riders feel confident on — safe, broke, kind, and genuinely enjoyable every time you saddle him.
