Steel is an eye-catching Welsh Quarter Pony, broke to ride and well suited for the hunter/jumper ring, where he truly shines. He is a forward-thinking ride with no buck, rear, or bolt that enjoys his job and jumps with scope and enthusiasm, making him an excellent step-up pony for a rider ready to be competitive.
This pony has a kind, willing personality and excellent ground manners. He is very sweet to handle and settles easily into new environments. He stands tied patiently anywhere, loads/unloads/hauls well in any type of trailer. He’s sound, up to date on all vaccinations/dental, and has great feet! Steel is an easy keeper, lives happily in a stall or turned out with any herd of horses.
He has extensive off-property experience, having been ridden everywhere from snow drifts and trails in Iowa to the cross country courses and beaches of Florida, and takes new places confidently.
Steel is an athletic pony that would also make a dependable working ranch pony and could easily excel in any discipline that requires stamina and a strong work ethic. He has been ridden English, western , bareback, double and is also broke to drive. He rides well in a snaffle bit on contact or a shanked bit on a loose rein.
He has experience in all types of terrain down the trails. He is fun to ride anywhere as he is brave and confident down the trails. Ride him out alone or in a group of any size. He’s strong enough to carry most any size rider.
He has the movement, brain, and jump to succeed in the hunter or jumper disciplines and would also be a fantastic Pony Club mount for a motivated rider. He turns heads wherever he goes with his beautiful dapple gray coat and polished presence.
