The Spotted Saddle Horse is not a horse breed in the proper sense but a breeding program, which specialises in gaits and a beautiful inheritance of piebald. Therefore, breeding in general is not dependent on a breed or a particular pedigree. This leads to significant differences of these hors ... More about the horse breed Spotted Saddle Horse

Chance is a Beautiful, Smooth, Gentle Gaited 15-year-old American Spotted Saddle gelding. Don’t let his age fool you, he has tons of get -up-and -go!! He stands at 15.2 and is the gentle giant. He came from an owner of 8 years and obviously was well cared for and very well trained. He has all the accolades one would look for in a horse.

Ground manners: He is quiet and calm when tied, and I usually only need to ground tie him because he stands where I leave him. (seen in my videos) Loves grooming, great for the farrier and vet. He has had his teeth floated twice since I’ve had him. The farrier has come every 6 weeks for the entire year since I’ve had him too. (Natural hooves) He loads and travels wonderfully( quiet, and very patient). He will stay tied for any amount of time. He usually follows me with out a lead when finished riding and will follow me to the tack area where I take off his tack.(as seen in video)

Round pen: He lunges with a lead and without a lead. Walks or gaits when cued. He will come to you and follow one around the arena w/o a lead. Backs up on cue as well. (seen in video)
I have taken lessons with him for many months to help improve my riding knowledge. He has been patient with me . He knows leg pressure and is versatile with direct and neck rein. He knows one rein stop. Backs up calmly and moves hind quarters and fore quarters well. I have done a few obstacles (logs, tires, going between cones and stepping over bars and through hanging sheet and noodles.

General information: He is not bothered by pistol shooting( shot balloons off of him too), flags, umbrellas, carrot stick slapping on the ground, or balls. He has been around farm equipment and dogs and is fine around all of it. He was used for trail riding and camping by his previous owner. I have only ridden on trail with him in groups, and he does well in any position (lead, middle, last). He stands well for mount and will rack out as well if needed. He walks off with loose rein or will wait patiently until cued to move out. He has a smooth-running walk and smooth gait. (seen in multiple videos).
Most importantly, he has a sweet disposition and in great health. I wanted to grow old with him, but due to some recent family health obligations, I cannot keep him. I even bought a new trailer for him and a new saddle. I truly wanted him to be my forever last horse. However life sometimes can take one on a different path not planned.
He loves apples and carrots, which I give him often. At put-up time and feeding time, all I do is call him, and he comes running and goes straight into his stall and stands right in front of his trough. He will wait till I get there. It’s really so heartwarming. He also loves his fly mask, which I will send with him. (I also have a Circle Y Topeka Trail Flex 2 padded western saddle sz.15 seat that’s available for sale if interested, fits him very well). I will also send the two different bits I have used, if anyone would like that they are available . He is an easy keeper and would make a great companion on the trail and arena lessons as well.I would also recommend an experienced rider as well.
He is also UTD on all vaccines.
