We have chosen to present our trail horse Lexi as she is in real time, without heavily edited videos, to accurately showcase her personality, temperament, patience, and agreeable disposition. Lexi is a seven-year-old, just under 14.2H Standardbred Bay mare who is sound and healthy. She is up-to-date on vaccinations, worming, and farrier care. Lexi is an easy keeper with excellent hooves and is currently barefoot. Lexi has received thoughtful training focused on building a solid foundation with gentle handling. She has been ridden by both experienced riders and beginners, including first-time students. Lexi mounts to and from the block, side passes, neck reins, ground tying, knows voice and leg commands, and stops off the seat. Lexi is proficient in groundwork, responds softly to reins, flexes easily, and moves comfortably at the walk, trot, and canter. She stands quietly for tacking, veterinary exams, farrier visits, and for mounting and dismounting. Lexi enjoys attention and calmly receives exams, grooming, bathing, clipping, and hoof care. This exceptional mare excels as a trail horse and adapts readily to new challenges. She has a soft mouth, rides Western in a snaffle bit and will maintain a loose rein and respond promptly when requested. Lexi is comfortable riding alone or in groups, leading, following, or remaining at the back as needed. She is confident, neither barn nor buddy sour, and sure-footed—capable of crossing rivers and creeks, negotiating fallen trees and ditches, and ascending or descending steep hills safely. Lexi seeks connection with her owner and is typically the first to greet at the gate or approach in the field. She loads and unloads from trailers willingly and reliably maintains her demeanor regardless of exposure or riding frequency. Lexi is traffic-safe and has completed our comprehensive desensitization and touch program. She has been exposed to various obstacles, farm equipment, vehicles, motorcycles, gunfire, fireworks, dogs, adverse weather conditions, wildlife, and a range of other stimuli. This loyal young mare is seeking a dedicated and loving lifelong partnership. She is best suited for an experienced rider who values her intelligence, and demeanor. We are heavy-hearted, only selling due to a major health issue and surgeries. We are committed to finding a permanent loving home for Lexi. Pre-purchase examinations are welcome.
