Meet Honey Bun— a solid, honest 5-year-old mare that’s been used as a ranch horse and trail horse she is wise beyond her years. This mare has a great mind, a willing attitude, and is the kind that shows up every day ready to work.
She’s been used outside and knows what a full day on the ranch looks like. She’s gathered cattle, sorted, opened and closed gates, drug calves, and covered lots of country. She stays quiet, level-headed, and takes care of her rider. More “whoa” than “go,” making her easy and enjoyable to ride.
In the arena, she rides around quiet and correct with a nice handle. She picks up her leads, moves off leg pressure, and has a smooth, comfortable way of going. Outside, she’s confident and dependable—solid on the trails, crosses water, handles rough terrain, and isn’t spooky.
This mare has a great disposition and is easy to get along with. She stands tied, saddles quietly, loads and hauls well, and is good for the farrier. Sound, healthy, and no maintenance.
If you’re looking for a young mare that already has real-world ranch experience and a bright future ahead of her, she checks all the boxes. Whether you want one to continue ranching on, trail ride, or just enjoy, she’ll fit right in.
