“Amarillo” | 2017 AQHA Palomino Gelding

Lovin the Spotlight, barn name Amarillo, is a 2017 AQHA registered palomino gelding with a good handle, a quiet disposition, and the versatility to go in several directions.

Amarillo is well broke, responsive to leg and rein cues, and comfortable in a variety of settings. He neck reins well, has a good stop and rate, and stays rideable when asked to move up in speed. He is level-headed and willing without being dull, with enough athletic ability and speed to make a performance prospect while remaining enjoyable to ride at a slower pace.

He trail rides quietly both leading and following and is comfortable going in and out of the arena. He handles new environments well and stays focused when pressure is applied. He has been started on the barrel pattern and has exposure to pole bending, and he has begun jumping poles. His barrel and pole work are still developing, but he has the foundation, responsiveness, and speed to continue progressing with the right rider.

On the ground, Amarillo is quiet and easy to handle. He loads and unloads well, hauls quietly, and stands tied at the trailer. He stands for grooming and saddling, picks up all four feet, and is comfortable receiving body work and massage. He currently wears front shoes and has good feet. He is sure-footed and confident on the trail.

Amarillo has been ridden by kids and is tolerant and dependable with them. He has also been comfortable with kids standing on him, reflecting the quiet disposition he carries both under saddle and on the ground.

He is a substantial, well-built gelding with attractive conformation and legitimate AQHA show-horse breeding. His pedigree includes BRT Spotlight, by BRT Limited Edition, and Slip Mia Magic, giving him a strong foundation of recognized show-horse bloodlines.
