Austin Powers is a 7 year old Clyde x Quarter Horse gelding standing 16.2 hands high. To know this horse is to love him. He’s one of the few horses that can sit for a month, come out of the stall, and ride off beautifully like he hasn’t skipped a day. You can take him anywhere and feel safe, confident, and secure. From the cross country course, the dressage arena, to the trails, Austin is sure footed and reliable on any terrain. He slow lopes like a quarter horse, jumps everything without question, and even rides bridleless! He is a dream under saddle, a true friend on the ground, and just a pleasure to have around the barn.
In the ring, Austin Powers always blows everyone away with the way he moves. You don’t see a draft cross with a canter like his every day! He will lope off from a standstill, rode round in the bridle, ride on a loose rein, and of course ride with no bridle at all. He has smooth gaits, easy transitions, and is very, very comfortable in all gaits. He’s the perfect amount of whoa and go, easy to get going the pace you want, without ever being too speedy or forward. On the cross country field, Austin has seen obstacles of all kinds. He will jump in and out of water, over logs, coupes, ditches, and up and down banks.
On the trails, Austin will go anywhere you point him. He will ride alone, or in a group, and is happy anywhere in the pack. He is used to loading up and going off to new places, and does not get worked up by new surroundings. He will cross any terrain, steep hills, water and is safe in traffic and all livestock. He has gone through the prep work for Mounted Patrol, so he has quietly ridden with and around; smoke bombs, flame throwers, fireworks, flapping tarps, flags, and more!
In the barn, Austin is a barn favorite. He has fantastic manners, while still being in your pocket sweet. He is aware of his big size and is careful to be still around the little ones running around the barn. Everyone who meets Austin falls in love with him, he is absolutely one of a kind!
