Moores Tomm Cat, aka Tarzan, is a 6-year-old bay gelding that stands 15hh. He is the kind of horse that fits into just about any program and makes every job easier. Whether we’re heading to the roping pen, gathering cattle, or spending the day working in the pasture, Tarzan is always the same dependable horse every time you saddle him.
Tarzan has been used extensively as a head and breakaway horse and has the kind of quiet, willing disposition that makes him enjoyable for the whole family. He is built the way we like them—big, stout, athletic, and made to last—but what really sets him apart is his mind. He handles new situations with confidence, stays level-headed, and is the type of horse you can trust.
Outside of the arena, Tarzan has been a valuable ranch horse for us. We’ve roped calves out in the pasture, gathered cattle, sorted pairs, and dragged calves in the working pens. He goes wherever you point him and approaches every task with a willing attitude. He’s the same horse whether you’re asking him to work all day outside or make a run in the roping pen that evening. Tarzan is gentle and patient, making him suitable for most levels of riders. Whether your wife or kid would like to gather and sort cattle or drag calves on him, you can trust that he will take care of them and make getting the job done easy.
We have also hunted off of him. He handles the sights and sounds of the outdoors with confidence and composure. He is comfortable traveling through rough terrain, crossing creeks, navigating thick brush, and covering country quietly and willingly. Whether riding out before daylight or spending long hours in the woods, he remains calm, sure-footed, and easy to manage.
One of the things we’ll miss most about Tarzan is how easy he is to live with. He is a true gentleman on the ground and has excellent manners. He stands quietly for grooming, bathing, saddling, and the farrier. He loads and unloads easily, hauls quietly, and is always respectful to handle. He’s the kind of horse you enjoy being around, not just riding.
Tarzan is the type that’s getting harder and harder to find—a versatile, dependable gelding with a great mind, solid training, and real-world experience. We think a lot of this horse, and the only reason he’s being offered is because we can’t keep them all. If you’re looking for a horse that can be a trusted ranch partner, a dependable rope horse, and an enjoyable horse for the entire family, Tarzan is one we’re proud to stand behind.
