Ned is a 13-year-old beautiful liver chestnut gelding, with a unique natural highlighted mane and tail. Standing just at 14.3 hands high. He’s a seasoned and reliable trail horse with miles of experience under his belt. Whether you’re headed deep into the mountains or riding through a bustling downtown, Ned will take it all in stride he’s truly “been there, done that.” Used in a professional trail string in the Northwest, Ned has safely carried everyone from complete beginners to experienced riders. He’s calm, steady, and confident in any setting from rugged wilderness to national parks and even urban environments. One of Ned’s charming tricks is his mounting trick: tap his leg, and he’ll spread out and stand patiently until you’re comfortably in the saddle. It’s just one example of how well trained he is. Ned has an easy handle, soft mouth, and responds well to leg and seat cues. He knows his leads in the arena, has a solid stop, and offers a nice, collected reverse. He’s happy to lead the group, stay steady at the back, or head out on a solo ride, whatever you need, Ned is game. This gelding is respectful on the ground, easy to catch, loads himself into the trailer, and gets along well with other horses. He stalls quietly alone or does great turned out in a group.
