Every time I've thrown a leg over Jed, I knew he was going to take care of me & my son (4 year old). Absolutely no spook or meanness about him.Jed is one of the best trail horses I personally have had the privilege to ride. He is a great lead horse. Jed will be confident, brave and set a good pace. If there was ever a horse I would trust to go off on a long ride completely by myself, I would choose Jed. He is sure-footed and has experience with tons of wildlife with no issues. He handles the small deer paths with ease and will walk and take his time stepping over down trees. No ravine or ditch is too steep, and he absolutely loves to swim. The kids will have a blast in the summer taking turns cannonballing off him into a pond. He is the true definition of a family horse. Jed is big boned and big bodied, standing 15 hands and weighing close to 1250 lbs. He could definitely pack a beginner husband with ease. Jed has been trained to sidepass over to a mounting block, tables, or a log to pick up his rider. He is great for the farrier, standing for saddling, trailering, bathing, and pretty much anything you would wish to do with him. Jed is always willing and wanting to be with you and make you happy. Jed is no stranger to the arena, either. I have a huge lesson program, and I used Jed for lessons, packing kids as young as 6. He was always forgiving. He handled the young ones bouncing and pulling, and he was always great for the bareback lessons, too. You will hunt this world over to find a horse this dependable and safe.
