Calypso is a truly gorgeous and uniquely marked 8-year-old Paint gelding standing a solid 16 hands with a presence that turns heads and a personality that wins hearts. This big, handsome boy is the definition of a puppy dog — friendly, affectionate, and always wanting to be part of whatever is going on. He is very much an “in-your-pocket” type who loves attention and will happily greet you at the gate, ready for his next adventure. Calypso is a joy to have around the barn. He gets along wonderfully with other horses, is easy to catch, and is polite and patient to handle. He stands quietly in the cross ties for grooming and tacking, enjoys baths, and is easy to clip. He is good with his feet, loads and hauls well, and has the kind of steady, uncomplicated demeanor that makes him a pleasure to be around. Under saddle, Calypso is laid-back, curious, and confident. He has been extensively ridden out on coastal trails and absolutely loves the beach, taking new environments and scenery completely in stride. He has been exposed to a wide variety of situations and remains calm and level-headed, never getting worked up or reactive. He is comfortable around flags, tarps, and other obstacles both near him and on him. Calypso has a very appealing “whoa-than-go” mindset. He is happy to mosey along with friends, head out solo, or just enjoy a relaxing ride wherever you point him. In the arena, he knows his leads, travels out nicely, has a good stop, and will walk, trot, and lope pretty circles with ease. He is straightforward and pleasant to ride, making him easy for a wide range of riders to get along with. He can also sit with time off and come right back into work without fuss.
