Ivar is a 9 year old Smokey Valley Tennessee Walking Horse gelding. He stands 15 hands high and is a gorgeous black sabino roan with plenty of chrome, natural collection and a lovely conformation. Ivar is a brilliant performance trail horse – bred for speed, endurance and comfort. His 4-beat gait offers unrivaled smoothness and stamina, topping out over 20 mph.

Ivar would excel with an intermediate to advanced, avid trail rider, who has the confidence, skills and experience to fully engage his athletic abilities. He has a forward seeking nature and is incredibly responsive to light seat and leg cues and appreciates calm, quiet hands. He will stop on a dime and turn around so fast, it might make you dizzy! He has very solid feet, built to navigate rocky and uneven terrain and is currently rocking the barefoot look. He is well seasoned and well traveled, having covered many mountain ranges from east to west – Kentucky, Arizona, Wyoming, Montana and California – he’s truly been there, done that.

Not only is this horse as smooth and pretty as they come, but he is sweet as pie. He would love nothing more than to be someone’s main ride and companion. Ivar is always willing and ready – you won’t have to catch this one in the pasture, he’ll catch you. He’s the puppy dog type and loves a good snuggle session. He’s an easy keeper, stands peacefully for the farrier and to be groomed, saddled and bathed. He’s a perfect gentleman on the ground and loads with ease like the sophisticated traveler he is.
