“Razor” or Rockets Rolling Razor is a pending double registered (URHOEA and SHOBA) gelding standing at 15.3 hh. Sired by the late “Rawhides Rocket” and out of a full walking horse Dam. A deep, dark bay with minimal white markings (just a small star) makes him tall, dark, and handsome. He is stocky and strong, meaning he carries riders of all weights and sizes. He is an aged gentleman, been there, done that, type horse that still has fire for the show ring in his eyes. At 16 years old, he has been around the block a time or two. He has an extensive show record at sanctioned and local fun shows and has been ridden on the road, in parades, around wagons, and off the beaten trail. He will ride a tight trail in the deep woods on the mountain, he will cross water, climb rocky terrain, step over logs and under branches, and keep his rider safe long after dark. Riding at East Fork, Big South Fork, Baker’s Creek, and Starr Mountain has made him honest out in the wilderness. Razor has taken care of juveniles and amateurs during the show. He has been successful in Country Pleasure, Country Speed, Men’s Racking, and Open Racking. He will show both English and Western and wear his bridle with pride. Dress him up on Saturday night, and he will not disappoint you. His style and passion will show you he still loves to show. Razor has been clocked at 22mph and shows on the rail or straight away. With a stout hind end and lots of drive, this horse is a powerhouse. He knows how to use his body properly and transitions from the walk into a strong gait. Razor is suited for an intermediate juvenile or an advanced beginner adult. He can get excited and needs a stronger hand at times, but responds to verbal “whoa” cues on a dime. Razor has also been shown in lead line by an experienced toddler (or as experienced as a toddler can get). He will “pony” another horse and rider with absolutely no complaints as well. He makes a great all-around family horse who knows when to lower his head and walk his kiddo around with a calm and cool attitude. Razor can flat walk, show walk, pleasure gait, slow rack, and fast rack well. He will show you a distinguished difference in each gait asked. He has a true four-beat rack that is smooth as silk and will please any rider of his. He stops and stands on the rail or in the line-up and will back when asked. Razor can and will neck rein on a loose rein like a quarter horse or is perfectly happy being ridden two-handed with direct contact. Mount him from the ground or a mounting block and ride him single or doubles; he will follow your lead no matter what kind of silliness it entails. Loud noises do not scare him; he is safe with traffic and great around dogs and other livestock. He is not spooky and has no buck, bolt, rear, or bite in him. He will stand cross-tied or single-tied, will hobble, and is still for grooming, tacking, farrier work, and bathing. He loads and hauls beautifully and in any spot on the trailer. Fully vetted, he comes with clean PPE. He is up to date on Coggins, dewormer, and his vaccines (done at home). He is sound and will leave his current farm as so. Razor gets along well with other horses. Turn him out or keep him in a stall; he is comfortable either way. He does not require turnout or special supplements to keep him sound, even at his age. Currently ridden regularly and needing no maintenance. He wears four stamped Keg shoes per SHOBA guidelines. Razor has been with the same family for the past 8 years. He is only selling due to a divorce. He is a stand-up guy who is ready to make another family his! For any additional questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with Tristen Boggess. URHOEA papers in hand and ready for transfer. SHOBA papers can be arranged at the buyer’s request.
