Cabbage Patch is a 12 year old Shetland gelding standing 10 hands high. If you want to get your kids off the iPad and into the fresh air, this one’s for you. Cabbage is the ATV of ponies. The kids hop on and ride off through the woods for hours and hours, going up and down hills, through water, over bridges, and through cow pasture. He always gets his riders home safe in one piece, with a big smile on their faces. When the kids take him for a ride, we never worry about a thing. He’s been there done that, and knows his job is to keep the kids happy and safe - both under saddle and in harness. Whatever you do with Cabbage Patch, he will do it well and he’ll do it happily. He is the kind of pony that loves having kids to look after, and always appreciates the attention he gets while he’s doing it.

On any given day, you’ll find Cabbage trotting around the field with the boys playing cowboy. They shoot their pop guns off him, attempt to rope the goats, and sometimes each other! They jump on double from behind pretending to catch train robbers, do victory laps around the fields, and try to sneak him into the house to play Godzilla and smash their siblings Lincoln log towns. Now, Cabbage isn’t just for cowboys, the cowgirls also enjoy putting a unicorn on and dressing up as Elsa, braiding his hair and putting glitter all over him. He is oh so kind, patient, and saintly for all of the fun the kids have with him.

Cabbage Patch is a gentleman in the barn, and an easy keeper to have around. He lives out in a mixed herd and has no vices or maintenance. Whether you want to drive, have a forgiving and confidence building first pony for the kids, or just have a fun little pony around for when the grandkids come to visit, Cabbage is always happy to do the job!
