Poncho is a 10-year-old grade paint gelding standing 15.2 hands tall. He is nice thick, sturdy built with nice legs and feet. He's currently shod all the way around. Poncho is safe, quiet and gentle for anyone.
Poncho is what I would call a family friendly horse. He has been on overnight trail rides, packed saddle bags, and tied to the picket line overnight. Poncho will trail ride alone, in small groups, as well as large groups. He is use to traffic, ATV's, heavy machinery and dogs. You can ride down the road, ride the farm, head to a local playday, go hit the trails and relax knowing Poncho is your boy. He will travel the trails with ease, go through the creeks, over bridges and up and down the big cliffs. He's the type of horse that's more whoa than go! But he does listen when asked. Poncho will neck rein or you can ride him 2 handed, he has a nice trot and a nice slow lope. Stops when asked and backs up. Want to catch a cow with a rope well Poncho has done that too with ease.
On the ground Poncho has great ground manners and will be patient and respectful everyday. He stands tied quietly, stands for farrier, to groom, tack up and baths. He jumps right in the trailer and unloads easily. He will stand at a mounting block for you to get on and off and doesn't move until asked.
Poncho is a zero fuss type of horse that anyone would love. He stays broke after being left off and has no buck or silly business! Poncho is patient and kind and his personality is so enjoyable to have around the barn. Currently Poncho is turned out on a large pasture with many other horses and gets along great with them all, he has also been stalled with zero issues. Easy to catch, you ask? Yes he will be the first one to you and drops his head for the halter. He loves attention and is always wanting to please. Poncho has no vices, he's sane, honest and sound.
