Because of the war, a riding club rescued two horses from Ukraine. Now they are being attacked for it.
The horses and people in Ukraine are still at risk. They need protection from the bombs and have to be fed. In Lübeck (Germany), a riding club has taken two horses from Ukraine. A friend of the riding instructor has brought 100 horses from a riding school to safety. As the riding club in Lübeck also runs a riding school, two school horses from the Ukraine were sent there.
The riding school left the horses in peace for the time being. They were able to recover from all the stress for 3 weeks. Only then did the riding school begin to slowly retrain the horses. They started with lunging and treated the horses like raw horses. Only later did it turn out that they were two well-trained school horses.
But for this reason there is hostility. It was insinuated that they only saved the horses because they were well trained. But the riding club counters this. They couldn’t choose and they didn’t know what they were getting into. Even if the horses were not rideable, they would have taken them in, according to the riding club.
They wanted to help the animals and not enrich themselves. The war in Ukraine is still going on and many animals need support. One should be happy about every horse that comes out of Ukraine.
