Finally! It’s time for the FEI European Championships 2021! After a long wait due to the pandemic, equestrian events are starting to take place again! This year, the European Championships in Eventing, Showjumping and Dressage are taking place in Germany and Switzerland. You’ll find all you need to know about the events, streaming options for the US and UK, and the schedule for each championship below.
Longines FEI Jumping European Championship
The first event is the FEI Jumping European Championship, and it will take place from the 1st of September until the 5th of September 2021, in Riesenbeck, Germany. In total, 15 teams and 9 individual riders will be competing for the European Championship medals in the coming week. Over 23 countries and over 76 athletes and horses will go head to head in these tournaments. In addition, these and many other riders will compete in a total of 9 further international competitions. Apart from the team final on Friday and the individual decision on Sunday, the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck presented by Nolte Küchen is sure to be a highlight on the Saturday afternoon.

FEI Dressage European Championship & FEI Dressage European Championship U25
Hagen am Teutoburger Wald, in Germany, will be hosting the 2021 FEI Dressage European Championship and the FEI Dressage European Championship U25 from the 7th of September until the 12th of September 2021. Here you will be able to witness top-level dressage at Hof Kasselmann in the heart of the beautiful Osnabrücker Land.
The very best dressage horses and athletes from all over Europe will to go to Hagen to compete for top honours and medals. The Grand Prix, which takes place on the first two days, determines the winners of the team medals. All riders also aim to qualify for one of the 30 starting places in the second round, the Grand Prix Special with music, where the first individual medals are decided. Only the top 15 proceed to the Grand Prix Freestyle for the final individual title.
Individual and team medals will also be awarded in the FEI Dressage European Championship U25. First on the program is the team competition at Intermediaire II level. Then, the first individual tournament in the Grand Prix will follow, which is specially adapted for 16 to 25-year-old riders. The 18 best riders from these events are allowed to compete in the final individual Grand Prix Freestyle tournament with music.

FEI Eventing European Championship
Avenches in Switzerland will host this year’s FEI Eventing European Championship, with the events taking place from the 23rd until the 26th of September 2021. At the FEI European Eventing Championships, the third most important competition in eventing after the Olympic Games and the World Championships, the best equestrian teams from 17 European nations will compete. The dressage, show jumping and cross-country competitions will take place on the grounds of the Institut Equestre National d’Avenches – during four days of intense competitions, with the best team being awarded the highly sought after European title.
