There was an unusual rescue operation by the fire brigade. They were called to free a horse from a feeding stall. The horse was trapped and could not free itself on its own.
In Lustenau (Germany), a horse fell down in a wooden feeding stall. Due to the narrow walls on the left and right, it was unable to get up on its own.
Feeding stalls are a very popular device in open stables. They allow individual feeding of concentrated feed. Nevertheless, as in this case, they also harbour some dangers.
The fire brigade was contacted immediately and a veterinarian also arrived. This was because the horse had been sedated beforehand to prevent further injuries. After this took effect, the entire feeding stall was dismantled. Fortunately, the horse could be freed.
