Rome will host the FEI World Championships in Eventing and Driving in 2022, making it the head of the World of equestrian sports for the first time in 24 long years. The event will take place from 15th of September until 25th of September.
In Eventing in total, Pratoni del Vivaro will welcome:
- 90 combinations
- 27 countries
- 16 teams
Michael Jung (GER), Sandra Auffarth (GER), and Ros Canter (GBR), the most recent three individual World Champions from 2010, 2014, and 2018, are in the definite entry list.
In Driving Four-in-Hand in total, Pratoni del Vivaro will welcome:
- 39 combinations
- 16 countries
Team competition will be thrilling! Germany, the Netherlands, and Hungary each nominated six athletes, while France submitted four. It will be easier for France to compete for a podium spot because two of their competitors went to Pratoni in May for the test event. Glenn Geerts, who is currently the bronze medalist in the FEI World Cup, is a member of Belgium’s strong team.
Boyd Exell (AUS), the current world’s best, will be the focus of attention as he seeks his sixth outdoor world championship. Some of Driving’s best stars, including 2018 WEG team gold and individual silver medalist Chester Webber (USA), will compete against him throughout the race. Bram Chardon (NED), the reigning FEI World Cup champion, is also included.
