In Wertheim ,in the region of Würzburg (Germany), a horse escaped from the horse trailer directly onto the highway. The animal could be caught by the owner, before it came to accidents on the highway.
The horse shied and kicked the tailgate of the trailer and the tailgate opened which is very unusual. Normally, the tailgates of the trailer are well secured and a bar behind the horse serves as an additional safety device.
As a result, the horse fell out of the open trailer flap and crashed out of the trailer onto the A3 highway. No road users or other people were injured. The horse suffered a slight injury to its hind legs when it fell out of the trailer. Whereupon it was taken to the veterinary clinic.
