A horse transporter with a caravan crashed down the embankment on the highway. All those involved were only slightly injured.
Sunday morning there was a serious accident on the A12 towards Innsbruck. A horse transporter with a caravan crashed the unintentionally left the motorway and tumbled down the embankment. It is suspected that it was due to a microsleep. The truck contained the driver and co-driver as well as seven show horses.
Fortunately, all were only slightly injured. In order to free the animals, the tailgate had to be cut open first. The horses were then led to a nearby meadow, from where they were temporarily taken to nearby riding stables.
Because there was a suspicion that an animal could be trapped, the Innsbruck fire brigade was also alerted with a crane vehicle.
A veterinarian was also on the scene and immediately examined the horses.
