Helmuth is a striking six-year-old black Friesian Sporthorse gelding standing 16.1 hands tall, offering a rare combination of elegance, versatility, and true usability. He is exceptionally well broke to ride both Western and English, is one-hand neck rein broke, and will even slide to a stop like a seasoned Quarter Horse. Helmuth is trained in dressage movements, is very soft in the face, and is responsive yet forgiving—making him a pleasure to ride for a wide range of horsemen.

Beyond the saddle, Helmuth is an outstanding driving horse, working confidently single and double. He has been driven in downtown parades, around heavy traffic, and even with fireworks, trains, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles without hesitation. Traffic, noise, and commotion do not bother him in the least.

Helmuth’s ground manners are impeccable. He is easy to catch in both large pastures and small lots, stands quietly for the farrier, loads, clips, and hauls like a true gentleman. He will lower his head to be bridled or haltered—even by a child—and stands like a statue for mounting and dismounting from a block, trailer fender, picnic table, or other obstacles. He is respectful in a herd setting with other horses and ponies.

This gelding has seen real work. He has been ridden in the mountains and canyons, crossed railroad tracks with trains passing, gone barefoot or shod on all terrain, and has been used to move hundreds of head of crossbred cattle from pasture to pasture. He also loves the water—happily riding through rivers and swimming with children.
