Cactus is a versatile, well-rounded guy. He is the perfect height, standing a stout 15.2 hands. He will carry any adult but is easy to get on and off of. He rides very well in the arena, having a nice easy, walk, trot, and canter buttons. He moves well off leg pressure and offers great body control. He can be ridden on a loose rein or will round if asked. He has a soft mouth, and rides well in a snaffle or curb. He has an easy canter cue and takes the correct lead. He has been jumped and does well at getting his stride.
He has lots of experience outside the arena, including hunting in the mountains. Rough terrain is no problem for him, neither are creeks or logs. He can be taken out on the road with confidence and is traffic safe. He is fine with dogs running along while trail riding, and will ride alone or in a group. He is fine carrying a flag, or tarp, and around balls and obstacles. He has been trailered to new locations and arenas, adapting well, and performing as he does at home. He has had weeks off at a time, coming out of the stall and back under saddle with no fuss, no lunging required.
In the barn, he stands well in cross-ties, to be groomed and bathed. He will be good with kids and dogs underfoot. He is turned out at night with a mixed herd, and gets along well with no fuss or drama. He had his Spring shots. He has no history of health or soundnes issues.
