Further information

The horse breed called Paint Horse is represented by the 'American Paint Horse Association'(APHA) in Texas. However, it is basically not an autonomous breed, but rather spotted Quarter Horses. The reason for this is that the Paint Horse has the same pedigree and origin as the American Quarter ... More about the horse breed American Paint Horse

Meet 🍓 Strawberry Shortcake 🍓
A beautiful double registered (APHA, ISHR) 10 year old red roan mare standing 15 hands with a gorgeous red roan coat, plenty of bone, and a nice build. She has a kind eye, a willing attitude, and the sort of disposition everyone is looking for. She’s just a really classy mare, and we’re excited to offer her!
On the ground, Strawberry has excellent manners. Easy to catch, stands tied quietly, bathes, loads, hauls, and behaves well for the vet and farrier. Whether the barn is quiet or there’s commotion all around her, Strawberry is pleasant to be around.
The longer you’re around horses, the more you realize that dependable is one of the hardest qualities to find. Plenty of horses are talented, but when things don’t go according to plan, that’s when you find out what they’re really made of. Strawberry has always been the kind that keeps her head, stays honest, and simply gets the job done.
Under saddle, she’s safe, steady, and forgiving, with a comfortable walk, trot, and lope that make her enjoyable for just about anyone. Our nine-year-old confidently heads and heels on her, and she’s just as happy spending the afternoon trail riding as she is gathering cattle. She’s the same mare every time you throw a saddle on her, whether you rode her yesterday or three weeks ago.
Where Strawberry really separates herself is how level-headed she is. We’ve been in a couple of binds and cattle wrecks, and I’ll tell you this: she’s the horse I want to be sitting on if things go sideways. I never have to wonder if she’s going to lose her cool or make a bad decision. She waits on her rider and keeps doing her job. Point her at a stubborn cow, and she’ll move it. If one needs pushed over, she’ll push it over. I honestly think she’d go to the moon if you asked her.
Out on the trail, Strawberry is just as dependable. She confidently navigates steep hills, creek crossings, rocky terrain, mud, fallen trees, and thick woods with the same quiet attitude she brings everywhere else. She’s been exposed to traffic, tractors, dogs, cattle, farm equipment, and all the everyday sights and sounds of ranch life without batting an eye.
She’s also been a wonderful horse for our family. Whether it’s carrying the kids around the farm or letting Wade rope on her, she’s always taken her job seriously. As a mom, there’s nothing more valuable than knowing your child is riding a horse that’s looking out for them too. She’s incredibly forgiving. Sometimes the kids’ cues are confusing, and instead of getting rattled or fussy, she just tries her best to figure out what they’re asking.
If you’re looking for something you can head or heel on at the jackpot, saddle up and hit the trails, or let your kids spend the afternoon making memories with, Strawberry is tried and true.
Strawberry is the kind of mare people spend years searching for. Horses like her don’t come around very often, and we’re proud to offer one of the best.
Clean-legged, 100% sound, and free of bad habits or vices.
