Ground manners:
Ben has great manners on the ground. He stands to be saddled
He is great with the farrier. He loads and unloads on the trailer with ease. Ben stands to take a bath without squirming or causing a fuss. He is always the first one to meet you at the gate.
In the saddle:
Ben is buttery smooth while in the saddle. He transitions from a walk to his gait seamlessly, and he neck reins with ease. Ben also moves off of leg pressure, moving back and forward, as well as side to side. He is trained to side-pass to move around objects. He is also trained to pick you up at a mounting block. Ben will also park out for the shorter riders to get on. Ben has been through every obstacle you can think of: trees, stumps, downed logs, up steep mountains, through mud rivers, etc. Ben is broke to dogs, cows, turkeys, deer, four-wheelers, cars, trucks, and tractors. He is also broke to traffic.
He has been on many overnight camping trips. To Tennessee, Illinois, and Kentucky, Ben is ready for anything if you’re looking for a family horse everyone can enjoy, or if you are a serious trail rider, Ben is ready for any job. He has been such a pleasure to raise and have on our farm! He is going to make someone a special companion!
