Yesterday, Wednesday, it was all about the third and thus last decision in the dressage freestyle. In addition, the German show jumpers are provisionally in sixth place after the first round.

The World Championships in Herning 2022 continue to be exciting. The last decision of the dressage riders was coming up. Also in the second individual decision in the dressage, there was no medal for the German dressage riders. The new dressage world champion is Charlotte Fry from Great Britain with Glamourdale, ahead of Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour with Vamos Amigos.

The best German rider is Benjamin Werndl with Famoso, who achieved a great fourth place. “This is indescribable,” Werndl enthused. “He is a superstar now, I knew it before,” he said about his sport partner Famoso. ” Everything I had planned worked out.”

National coach Monica Theodorescu also praised: “He rode a really great championship. He has established himself among the world’s best.”

Satisfied nevertheless

Record-breaking rider Isabell Werth finished the World Championships in ninth place in the freestyle. “No risk, no fun,” was how she commented on her ride with Quantaz. She was also “totally happy” with the horse’s development.

“The first goal has been achieved”

After the first of three partial competitions in the team classification in the fight for the show-jumping world championship title, the Germans are currently in sixth place. A good basis for more. The four riders had a total of two faults. “The first goal has been achieved, we are within reach,” commented national coach Otto Becker.

Especially Christian Ahlmann with Dominator and debutant Jana Wargers could shine with a clear, fast round in Herning. Today, Thursday and Friday, the competition continues with the remaining two rounds and the first two qualifications of the individual riders.
