COVID-19 – mask obligation applies immediately to horses

The face mask has been firmly integrated into our lives for almost two years now. While the mask obligation is relaxed in many places now, there are new rules for our four-legged friends from now on: Because the mask obligation applies to dogs from now on.

Mask in the stable building or at events- that counts now for our four-legged friends too. While we mostly have to wear FFP2 masks, the medical ones are sufficient for horses. The reason for this? Quite simply: Horses can also be Corona carriers. Since COVID-19 is currently spreading so rapidly and the incidence should not skyrocket even more, the logical consequence is that the fur noses transmit fewer viruses by wearing a mask.

Mask obligation for horses starting from 01.04.

The new regulation is to become effective from 01.04.2022. Wait a minute, from 01.04., that is nevertheless the well-known the day for (bad) April fool jokes. You caught us, the mask obligation for horses does not exist of course. The four-legged friends are allowed to move normally without masks. We just tricked you a little bit and hope that we could at least put a little smile on your face during the strenuous Corona times (you can admit it – you must be smiling right now!).

Aprils fools day
