Meet Eclipse, a breathtaking Missouri Fox Trotter gelding with an exceptional foundation in training. At 15.3 hands and seven years old, he has developed remarkable responsiveness and respect, both on the ground and under saddle. His advanced groundwork includes backing from the end of a long line, backing in circles, and side-passing with ease. He moves confidently over obstacles with just a point of a finger, demonstrating his willingness and intelligence.

Eclipse has been ridden bridleless on trails, confidently navigating rocks, logs, and steep hills with his head down, moving slow and steady. He backs, backs in circles, side passes, counter bends, walks, gaits, and lopes on a loose reign and comes to an immediate stop simply by reading the rider’s seat, showcasing his refined training and attentiveness.

Gentle and respectful, Eclipse eagerly greets anyone at the gate, looking for attention and a scratch in his favorite spot. He stands quietly for trimming untethered in the pasture, saddles and unsaddles untethered in an open field, and remains patiently in place when unmounted on the trail until his rider returns. He will side pass to any object for easy mounting and stands quietly until asked to move.

Eclipse’s calm demeanor makes him an excellent candidate for a lesson horse, as first-time riders have ridden him in an arena setting. He is unshakable, having been exposed to a wide range of environments—including extreme trails, highways, water crossings, and logs—whether riding solo or with others. His blend of elegance, intelligence, and dependability makes him a dream partner for any rider.
