A 17-year-old girl was critically wounded in an accident while riding in a carriage in Wiehl (Germany).
In a tragic carriage accident on Friday afternoon, two girls were injured, one of them critically. One of the two horses died at the place of the accident, the second horse was brought back to the stable.
Witnesses had observed that afternoon how both horses went through for an unclear reason. The team of horses left the road in a curve, landed in an embankment and crashed with enormous force against a telephone pole.
The 17-year-old girl was thrown out of the carriage and had to be taken to a hospital by rescue helicopter. Her 14-year-old companion sustained only minor injuries in the accident.
