In a nail-biting final showdown at the 2025 FEI European Dressage Championships in Crozet, Isabell Werth’s flawless performance sealed Germany’s historic 26th team title.

A Tense Team Showdown in Crozet

At the Jiva Hill Stables in Crozet, France, the team dressage competition came down to the wire. From the opening day, Germany and Great Britain were locked in a fierce duel for the top spot, with every ride adding pressure and drama. It was ultimately Isabell Werth aboard Wendy de Fontaine who clinched the victory for Germany with a near-perfect, tension-filled performance, securing their 26th team gold in European Championship history.

Werth Delivers Flawless Final Ride

All eyes were on the final riders: Werth on Wendy de Fontaine, and Charlotte Fry on Glamourdale for Great Britain. Werth rode with poise and precision, earning 79.224%, the second-highest mark of the day. Fry pushed hard but mistakes in extensions, piaffes, and a pirouette led to a score of 75.869%—still strong, but not enough to unseat Germany.

Germany Celebrates, Denmark Impressive on Bronze

Germany’s total team score reached 229.644%, edging out Great Britain for the gold. Team members included Werth, Katharina Hemmer (Denoix PCH), Frederic Wandres (Bluetooth OLD), and Ingrid Klimke (Vayron NRW). Denmark’s Cathrine Laudrup‑Dufour delivered the highest Grand Prix score of the day—an impressive 80.823%—earning team bronze with a total of 223.385%.
