During a rodeo event, a 20-year-old girl died. Despite medical measures, the girl could not be saved.

Breanna Chadwick has died in a tragic accident. During a rodeo event, the girl lost her life. According to the media, one of the horses ran into a gate during the parade. The gate jumped open and hit the young woman. The student teacher was immediately taken to the nearest hospital by a helicopter.

During the operation, the family asked for people to pray for Breanna. But neither the doctors nor God could help her. Breanna Chadwick lost the fight for her life. The funeral was on Wednesday 13 July.

An obituary published on the internet says: “Breanna had a beautiful laugh and always had nonsense on her mind. You could always find her at her favourite restaurants grabbing a soda or ice cream.” She said the student loved children and was extremely popular. “She touched so many people and will continue to do so for many years to come.”

Friends had started a fundraising campaign on Gofundme for the 20-year-old’s funeral. So far, more than $23 000 has been raised. The excess money is to go towards a scholarship named after the casualty.

The “Murray County Saddle Club”, which had organised the rodeo, decided in consultation with the family of the deceased to hold the multi-day event as planned. There was a vigil with candles in honour of the dead. Visitors were encouraged to wear T-shirts in Breanna Chadwick’s favourite colour: emerald green.
