If you are looking for the kind of pony that will bring peace of mind, endless smiles, and memories that last a lifetime, then meet Bluey. This incredible 4-year-old, 13.2-hand blue roan Gypsy cross gelding is a true gem, and exactly the pony you have been waiting for. He is not just a horse, he is a dependable, quiet, and loving companion who has been a part of our family and is ready to become a part of yours. Bluey has been our 9-year-old son Lyndon’s go-to pony all summer, and he is proven repeatedly that he is the kind of gelding you can trust in any situation. Whether it is a gentle walk down the trail, a busy family gathering, or just a quiet afternoon at the barn, Bluey is always eager to step up and do his part. He meets you at the gate with a calm demeanor and a friendly attitude, ready to give you his full attention and be your partner in whatever you need. He has been ridden Western, English, and bareback, and he never skips a beat no matter the tack or the rider. From first-time kids to seasoned horse people, Bluey takes care of everyone who climbs on his back. He has been on trails, through creeks, and along busy state roads, all while remaining completely traffic safe. He has also been used to check cows and explore new terrain, handling every task with a steady and willing heart. Desensitized to tarps, jugs, gunshots, and whips, Bluey stays cool and collected in every situation. He even side-passes up to the mounting block to make getting on a breeze. Bluey is one of those rare ponies that does not need to be ridden every day to stay the same. You can ride him once a day, once a week, or once a month, and he will always meet you with the same quiet, trustworthy attitude. He is never in a rush and never holds a grudge, just happy to go along with whatever you have planned. If you’re just looking for that grandkid pony they can go out to the pasture, catch themselves, and climb on with confidence, Bluey is your guy. He’s been hauled to new places and always steps off the trailer calm and relaxed, like he’s been there his whole life. He has even been used during school field trips here on the farm, safely carrying groups of kids and soaking up all the attention without a care in the world. He has three smooth gaits and a good one-hand neck rein, making him a pleasure to ride for anyone. Bluey wears shoes on all four feet because of the terrain we ride on, but he has good solid feet and could go barefoot in the right setting. He is up to date on all his vaccinations, deworming, and dental work, and he is ready to step into your barn without needing anything. If you have been searching for that hard-to-find, good-minded, beautifully colored pony that keeps your family safe and happy, Bluey is the real deal. He is not just a pretty face—he’s the kind of pony that sticks with you, makes memories, and becomes a lifelong Favorite. Please feel free to reach out to Duane @ 330-231-2324 for more information or to Schedule a day to see him in person.

Further information

I started my journey in the horse industry in 1995 when I purchased my very first pony at 11 years old. I spent an entire year devoted to training, riding,, and teaching him fun tricks like laying down, sitting, and bowing. I sold him later that year; the feeling of providing a well trained, well behaved, horse was so rewarding that I felt I wanted to continue to share my gift. In 2007, I married my awesome wife Miriam, and we have been blessed with six incredible children (two daughters and four sons) that participate daily with the operation of the farm. What started as myself and a dream has become the full time commitment of my family, and ten employees. The opportunity to share our horsemanship has been so rewarding. In kind, we have been so blessed to learn from professional experts and knowledgeable friends that have voluntarily poured into us their invaluable years of knowledge.

Our program has developed, changed, and grown along the way to ensure that we are producing a quality horse that we know we can stand behind. We start by carefully evaluating each horse before purchase. We specialize in quality quarter horses, draft crosses, and also Friesian and Gypsy crosses, from performance to trail riding to leisure.

After selection, we take the horse through our groundwork program to get connected with them as individuals. We take them through obstacles and trail ride them, exposing them to anything they may ever encounter.

Then, we give the horses a break for up to one month. This allows us to see how the training will stick with them. If they come back in the same place they were before the break we know they are ready to move through the rest of the program and become finished Buckeye Acre Farm horses, learning all of the fun crowd pleasing tricks. We feel we have one of the best soundness guarantees in the business, and we will stand behind that.

This has been an awesome journey, and God continues to bless and humble us each and every day. All of us, from our children to our employees, want to provide the best quality horses that you and your families will enjoy for years to come. Over the years we have experienced that the horse market changes, but also that a quality horse is always in high demand. If you see a horse that meets your needs, please reach out to us. I look forward to your call, and to speaking with you personally about your next equine partner.

May God bless your day.
