KIND, QUIET, and GENTLE are the first three words that come to mind about this guy. He has one the calmest personalities I’ve ever seen- you could set a bomb off right next to him and I don’t think he would even bat an eye. Chex goes absolutely anywhere you point him- we took him across the rail road bridge that is a good half mile in the air. He goes through all of the trail obstacles with ease. He is extremely reliable out in the woods- he is easy and sure footed and crosses anything without hesitation. Our last trail we sunk belly deep in mud- he didn’t freak out just casually got out of it like it was no biggie. I was terrified and he handled it like an old season pro. We have had all ages of riders, and all levels of riders on his back! He has zero buck, bite, rear, or kick. This is the horse you throw the kids on and don’t have to worry or check on them every couple minutes. We like to call him the “certified babysitter” Chex has been a trail horse most of his life, with an occasional day here and there checking cattle. Recently he has had some time in the arena to work on his “buttons” This guy has a heck of a stop- from day one he naturally got his butt underneath of him. He lopes good circles to the right- but still a little stubborn with taking his lead to the left. He has the stop to make a JAM UP heel horse or breakaway! I seriously love this gelding and every single friend or family member of mine that has met him all talk about how quiet and gentle he is. My farrier even made the joke asking if I gave him dorm gel before our appointment because he was half asleep the whole time. He is really just THAT laid back. You can’t put a p.r.i.c.e tag on one like him. He has his entire life ahead of him and is possibly the best insurance policy you can get for your kids.
