“Change The Code” lovingly known as “Stella” is a 16.1hh, chestnut tobiano mare. Stella is classy, safe, kind, honest, and a total do-it-all horse, with limitless opportunities!!! If you are looking to turn heads, and feel safe on your equine partner, this is the girl for you. Not only is Stella as stunning as they come, she has a fabulous pedigree, and she is grandsired by the famous “VS Code Red”. Whether you are looking for a show horse, a trusty trail partner, a husband horse, family horse, or an all around versatile pal, Stella is ready to step up and take any role that your heart desires.
Stella can live in or out, with a mixed group, or by herself. She is not marish in a herd, and she will make it a point to be the first one to greet you in the pasture. She will follow you around in the pasture and is extremely nosey. She is in your pocket and in my opinion prefers the company of humans sometimes, rather than horses. I can really appreciate her attitude towards others, the boys can be up her butt in the pasture and I have never seen her be mean towards them, she is one of the bros. Even when she is in heat, you can’t tell, she doesn’t holler for the geldings etc. In the barn she has zero bad habits. No cribbing, chewing, weaving. When she is in heat, and you enter her stall while she is eating, she will make a mare face, but does absolutely nothing mean or rude. She will hang her head out of her stall and ask for love and proceed to fall asleep in your arms. Stella stands on the cross ties to be groomed, tacked, bathed, etc. She doesn’t care about dogs or kids running around and is very appreciative of attention. She is safe for beginners to work with and around, as well as kids and small children. Stella has good ground manners, and can be trusted with novice horse people. Stella is great for the vet and farrier. She is an easy keeper with a simple diet, no maintenance, and never asks for anything.
Stella absolutely loves trail riding. She is always up for a good adventure, and takes care of her rider. Stella will lead, follow, go alone and in groups. She crosses water, bridges, logs, rocks, safe with traffic, bikes, wildlife, dogs trailing her heels, you name it!!! She has packed around my guests and friends and would make an awesome husband horse. She loves to explore and is sure footed. Through thick brush, along side of a lake, to a trail as skinny as her hooves with a cliff on both side, Stella has proved to be a very trusted, safe, trail partner. I could see her enjoying camping, fox hunting, paper chases and more. I even pulled her bridle off and rode her for about an hour with just a neck rope. I added lots of trail videos to show her good mind, and love for trails. She is safe around cows and is good friends with my mini cow. Stella is brave on the trails and not spooky.
Stella rides western, english, and bareback. She will ride in anything from a halter and lead rope, to a shank bit. She is soft in your hands and listens well to your cues. Stella will ride off of your seat, or hands. While her gaits are big and floaty, she is comfortable and has great rhythm. She has soft buttons, meaning she can have fun with an advanced rider, yet is subtle and gentle enough for kids and beginners. I haven’t met a horse as versatile as miss Stella in a long time. She is such a joy to ride and play with different disciplines. Stella throws potential in every single direction. Not only would she be a super star with western dressage, but classical dressage too. I can see her doing ranch trail classes, trail obstacle courses, and more. Stella is already a proven show horse, she knows the ropes and has the grit.
In the ring, Stella will walk, trot, canter, and knows her leads. She will ride collected or on the buckle, and I have also ridden her without a bridle. Stella will move laterally off of leg, pivot, side pass, back up, whoa, and neck reins. She has been started on a lead change as well. You can adjust her head set for the different disciplines. She is the same horse every time, whether she sits for weeks or is ridden all week. I would consider her the perfect combo of whoa and go. She will happily go around slow and easy yet you don’t need a crop and spurs to ask her to go to work. She can do a job for you then come right back down for a kid to hop on. She is very mature especially for her age, and if her brain is this good now, it will only get better. Her previous connections did a splendid job with her, and everyone that meets her, loves her.
Stella was very lightly introduced to fences when I purchased her. I have also lightly furthered along in that department. Since she is young, she has not been pushed. And all of the jumping she has done so far in life has been for fun. She shows an interest in jumping, and I did recently raise the pole a little and she had plenty of scope. Since she is five, cross rails and small stuff is plenty for her right now. But she showed me that she has the ability to go higher. I also introduced her to cross county fences, first lunging her over them, then popping over one time under saddle. She did great so I left it at that. As she matures and gets older, her future owner could have a lot of fun with jumping. She could easily be a fox hunter, or a hunter jumper. Her experience with jumping so far has been slow and steady. Setting her up for success in the future! With Stella’s beautiful movement, and scope over fences, I could totally see her rocking it in the eventing world.
Stella has already proven herself in the show world. She has points in HUS, halter, showmanship and was shown in children’s lead line. Stella was being shown consistently this year, and has two high point circuit championships in the green Hunter Under Saddle for 2025. Stella knows her way around a show ring, and is a behaved girl.
Stella has fantastic bloodlines. She is sired by “I Got All The Assets”, who is sired by a world championship holding stallion. On her dams side, she is grand sired by the famous “VS Code Red”. A stallion who is currently labeled as a “super sire”. VS Code Red is a congress and world champion in various disciplines. He is known for producing wonderful offspring who bring intelligence, elegance, and versatility to the table. VS Code Red goes back to the world known “Vital Signs Are Good”, a mare who is known for her record breaking show career. And her legacy as a show producing mare. She was inducted into the AQHA hall of fame in 2019. Every way you look at her breeding, Stella is set up for success, and versatility. Her bloodlines speak for themselves, and they have created such an amazing mare. Stella has all of the potential to be a great broodmare.
This is a rare opportunity to own not only a uniquely colored horse, but a horse that has a fantastic brain. Stella builds a friendship with everyone that she meets. She is labeled as the Queen of the barn here, and has been a huge part of the farm. I am very thankful for the time that I have gotten in the saddle on miss Stella, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her. Myself as well as her previous family would love to have the opportunity to follow Stella’s story.
Stella loads and trailers like a dream. She will squeeze into my smaller trailer and doesn’t complain. You can tie her to the trailer to tack up and get ready. She enjoys being groomed, and picks up all four feet. Stella has no health or soundness issues and doesn’t have any special needs. She does best with four shoes for trail riding as she does has white feet, but they are good, strong hooves. She is up to date, and I have a recent PPE on file.
This is an opportunity that you don’t want to miss. Here is a mare who is a proven, true, all around horse. And boy is she easy on the eyes. Stella is currently set up to head in absolutely any direction, with a bright future ahead of her. If Stella sounds like a forever partner to add to your family, please don’t hesitate to reach out for further information. She is very loved, and deserves nothing but the best.
