Dominion is a 5-year-old, 16-hand Belgian/Quarter Horse cross gelding. He has good conformation, is athletic, personable on the ground, and doesn’t mind a hard day’s work. He rides English and Western, jumps, spins, side-passes, and is very well broke to drive! He has buttons, so he’s probably not the horse to put grandma on—unless grandma knows how to handle a handy horse. He would make an excellent ranch horse with his strong work ethic and good brain.

On the trail, Dominion has many miles under his belt and is a solid partner. He confidently goes through creeks and rivers, past bikes and dogs, across bridges, and through flapping tarps and flags. He is completely traffic-safe. Yo u can trailer him to a brand-new place, and he won’t bat an eye at unfamiliar surroundings. He’s completed an eight-mile hunter pace with jumps and performed fantastically. He could easily fox hunt or do more hunter paces. He enjoys being out and behaves well in a group—he will lead or follow without issue and doesn’t mind if another horse rides close. He’s also been out cross-country schooling and was a superstar. He has solid jumping potential and is brave and honest to the fences. He’s also very well broke to drive and seems to enjoy it!

In the ring, Dominion walks, trots, and canters both directions. He works well in both indoor and outdoor arenas. He is balanced, forward-thinking, and offers walk-to-canter transitions. He can volte and is not far from being able to pirouette at the trot and canter. He turns on the forehand and haunches and side-passes with ease. He’s willing to work and doesn’t tire easily. He’s comfortable, sturdy, and sure-footed. He moves off the leg very well and is as handy as a cow horse. This gelding shows real potential for upper-level dressage with the right trainer. He’s sensitive and willing, and needs a rider who matches that sensitivity. He’s not spooky or reactive to his surroundings, but he is very aware of his rider and in tune with what’s happening in the saddle.

On the ground, Dominion is as personable and “in-your-pocket” as they come. He loves people and attention. He’s easy to catch in the field and gets along with both mares and geldings. He stands quietly for grooming, tacking, the vet, and the farrier. He loads and unloads from the trailer like a gentleman. He’s a fan of sweet treats and will be your best friend if you offer apples or carrots. He has no stall vices and is quiet and content in his stall. He’s healthy, an easy keeper, and a pleasure to have in the barn. We’re committed to finding the best fit for this special boy.

Dominion is up to date on shots, farrier, dental work, Coggins, and deworming. A recent PPE is on file with no issues or concerns.
