Meet “I Dont Know About U” A.K.A. “Razi”, a beautiful 2019 bay AQHA mare. Razi came to me 2 years ago barely ridden and with severe anxiety. She has since become loving, trusting, and very very sweet.

Razi would do best with an intermediate to advanced rider. It matters more the rider’s knowledge of working with green horses than their actual riding skill. While she is quite calm, she is still very green and sometimes has sticky moments where she’ll shake her head, or paw, or test what she can get away with (you can see some such moments in the video). It would be fine for a beginner to ride her on a line, or in a confined area but probably not in the open without close supervision as she might just take them wherever she wants to go. Razi loves trail riding and is not barn or herd sour at all. However, if you take her in the arena, she is significantly less motivated to do anything. At the moment, we are mostly doing walk/trot rides with lots of snack breaks. She is pastured right next to the highway and ridden by the highway regularly making her totally used to loud trucks driving right past her on a regular basis.

Razi is good for the vet, though a bit wiggly for the farrier. She is fine without sedation but needs a patient, kind farrier to trim her feet as her last home had a very abusive one and she still has some trauma surrounding it. It probably doesn’t help the times when her feet are sore. Even though, she tries super hard and will usually let you hold it up for a decent amount of time before asking to put it down. She steps right into the trailer, no problem and is also fine with being in stocks, or other confining areas.

Razi is super easy to catch! She loves R and has been trained to do basic liberty work and some tricks. She is fine with fly spray and bathes though I don’t give her them that often. She also has the cow sense and sometimes likes to try to cut me (as if I’m a cow) though she doesn’t have any training for it and has never even seen a cow. She is registered with the AQHA and I have her papers though they are out of date. She could be re-registered. I just haven’t since I don’t have the need to.

The down side to Razi, is that she has unofficially diagnosed chronic laminitis. It usually only shows in the fall and spring making her rideable all winter and summer. She is also usually okay just with proper management, and only needs supplements every now and then. She also has a bit of thrush which is really hard to overcome in our super wet valley where she lives. One of the reasons I’m selling her is that I don’t have access to a good vet. She is young and otherwise healthy, and I think that with proper care, she could get to the point of being showable. Right now, I don’t think she is.

I have tried the past two years to breed her and have been unsuccessful both times. She is a maiden mare so it could be that, or her supplements might be messing with the process, or it’s just bad luck. I have no idea why she hasn’t taken - I haven’t looked into it.

She has never had a bit in and I would like to keep it that way. She rides fine in a bitless side pull, or even just a halter.

Pros:
⭐Very sweet, and super friendly!
⭐Basically catches herself from the pasture
⭐Not herd sour or barn sour
⭐Loves trail riding and crosses water and logs with no problem
⭐Leave her for a month and then take her out and ride her - she’s the same horse.
⭐Rides western, english, or bareback.
⭐Rides bitless or in just a halter
⭐Knows some tricks and can do basic liberty work
⭐Would be fine for supervised beginner riders - would not recommend letting a beginner ride her just anywhere.
⭐Trailers great!
⭐Stands great for vet and decently for farrier.

Cons:
⭐Has unofficially diagnosed chronic laminitis and also some thrush
⭐Is still green and working on refining her stops
⭐Has some sticky moments where she needs a calm, confident rider to help her through it
⭐Could be considered “lazy” but I think it’s just when her feet are sore or she's disinterested in what you're doing
⭐Has developed a bit of a broncing habit when she first picks up the canter. Only last a couple of seconds and she settles if you just ride it out. I think this will come with more work and a better rider. I rarely canter her since I'm not a very good rider and can't canter very well. Also, when I say broncing, I mean she puts her head down, rounds her back, and bounces a bit - she doesn’t ever actually buck.
⭐Does not like arena work as she finds it boring
⭐She absolutely despises jumping, so if you’re thinking about doing that, find yourself a different horse.

Razi is a diamond in the rough, just waiting for the right person to come along so she can fulfill her potential. It was not an easy decision to sell her, but I am at a time in my life where I can no longer take care of her. I am asking $2,000 but am very flexible on price. It is most important to me that she goes to someone who is going to be gentle and patient with her as she continues to progress in her training and overcome her fears.

The quality of her home is very important to me so I will be disclosing everything about her issues in the hopes that she is not simply dumped a year down the road. She will come with her halter, flexible filly grazing muzzle (newly bought this season) and a just opened container of supplements which lasts about 3-6 months depending on how often it’s given. This all totals about $250. Please keep this in mind when you’re making your offer. PPEs are welcome at the buyer’s expense.

Note: The video does not show close to all of what she can do!
