In their opinion, the Modern Pentathlon should change its rules.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]According to its new President Hans-Joachim Erbel, the <strong>German Equestrian Federation<\/strong> (FN) wants to <strong>increase the pressure on the Modern Pentathlon<\/strong>. After the <strong>scandal<\/strong> involving the Olympic pentathlete <strong>Annika Schleu<\/strong> at the <strong>Olympic Games in Tokyo<\/strong>, organised equestrian sport was also<strong> forced<\/strong> to justify itself.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We see it as our task to<strong> exert pressure<\/strong>,&#8221; said 62-year-old Erbel at the CHIO in Aachen on Wednesday. &#8220;We say that the pentathletes should <strong>remove<\/strong> riding from the Modern Penthalon. If they are unable to do that, they should <strong>change the regulations<\/strong> in such a way that they<strong> protect the animals and people<\/strong>.&#8221; The <strong>FN<\/strong> and the<strong> World Equestrian Federation FEI<\/strong> have clearly <strong>distanced<\/strong> themselves from the pentathletes after the <strong>shocking pictures with Schleu<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]31-year-old Schleu had<strong> not been able to cope<\/strong> with the horse assigned to her, which had been<strong> completely unsettled<\/strong>. National trainer <strong>Kim Raisner<\/strong> had asked the <strong>crying<\/strong> Berliner Olympian to use her <strong>whip<\/strong>, <strong>shouting<\/strong> at her with the words &#8220;<strong>Hit it hard!<\/strong>&#8221; &#8211; and then proceeded to <strong>hit the horse with her fist<\/strong>.
