The owner discovered the <strong>ear, eye<\/strong>, and <strong>nose<\/strong> had been <strong>amputated<\/strong>\u00a0after the body had been left in a meadow until professional removal was arranged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to AFP, the local <strong>police<\/strong> claimed that they are connecting the case to &#8220;approximately 15 other inexplicable <strong>acts of violence<\/strong> and mutilations of live horses around France in previous weeks.&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another incident occurred last week, this time in the Jura region, where a <strong>horse<\/strong> was stunned before having an <strong>eye poked<\/strong> <strong>out<\/strong> and a piece of <strong>bone removed.<\/strong> Later, the animal perished.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Barbaric internet challenge or satanic ritual?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Breeders<\/strong> and <strong>equestrian facilities<\/strong> have been informed, according to a social media <strong>&#8220;urge for vigilance&#8221;<\/strong> posted by the neighbourhood police. &#8220;We ask you <strong>to report<\/strong> any individual or behaviour regarded as suspicious near meadows with horses, stud, farm, or equestrian centres,&#8221; the <strong>Gendarmerie du Jura<\/strong> wrote on Facebook.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Donkeys<\/strong> have also been the <strong>victims<\/strong> of similar crimes, and earlier this month in Cortambert, Burgundy, a horse had its right <strong>ear cut off<\/strong>, one of its <strong>eyes gouged out<\/strong>, and its <strong>reproductive organs removed.<\/strong> When this happened, a local authority remarked, <strong>&#8220;This is truly barbaric.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to a representative from the Paris police, <strong>Belgium<\/strong> and <strong>Germany<\/strong> have seen similar homicides and mutilations in the past. However, such a <strong>large quantity<\/strong> in such a short time is unheard of in France since the year&#8217;s commencement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In accordance with the police spokesman, &#8220;We do not comprehend the <strong>motive<\/strong>.
