[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Frederic Wandres wins the Grand Prix Special while Isabell Werth earns her title in the Grand Prix Freestyle at the International Dressage Festival at Monrepos. <\/b><\/p>\n

Due to the presence of the complete German<\/strong> World Championship team<\/strong>\u2014Ingrid Klimke, Benjamin Werndl, Isabell Werth, and Frederic Wandres\u2014visitors had the opportunity to witness dressage riding at the greatest level against the breathtaking backdrop of Monrepos Castle<\/strong> for four days. Frederic Wandres<\/strong> won the CDI4* – FEI Grand Prix Special<\/strong>, which was presented by the city of Ludwigsburg, on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n

The penultimate rider<\/strong> to enter the dressage ring was Frederic Wandres<\/strong> with a 12-year-old Bluetooth Old<\/strong>. The rider from Hof Kasselmann<\/strong> was thrilled with his victory<\/strong> and set a personal best<\/strong> in this Grand Prix Special, earning a magnificent final score of 77.148 percent<\/strong>. “We are now gradually approaching the point where we may exploit his strengths. He is the horse who knows how to present himself<\/strong> and is really graceful, and we are not even close to the end yet “Wandres commended the gelding from Oldenburg.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sam Donnerhall and Anna-Christina Abbelen<\/strong> came in second with a final score of 72.383 percent<\/strong>, placing them far behind the winner. She and her gelding had previously attended the inaugural Dressage Festival<\/strong> the previous year, so she was aware of the demanding circumstances<\/strong> that would be present. Both Anna-Christina Abbelen and the 24-year-old Evelyn Eger, <\/strong>who finished third<\/strong> in the Grand Prix Special, ride for Hof Kasselmann as of this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spectators\u2019 favourite Freestyle<\/b><\/h2>\n

Around 8000 people attended the International Dressage Festival Ludwigsburg’s debut last year, but this year’s equestrian competition has already drawn 12,000 spectators<\/strong> who weren’t deterred even by the rain on Saturday. The CDI4* – FEI Grand Prix Freestyle<\/strong> event under floodlights was unquestionably the highlight<\/strong> for everyone behind the rail. After a small flutter in the canter and with a light drizzle beginning, Isabell Werth<\/strong> finished a smooth performance with Emilio<\/strong> and rightly took first place<\/strong> with a perfect score of 84.125 percent<\/strong>. “I felt very comfortable. At the Nuremberg Burg Cup final qualification, 19-year-old Moritz Treffinger<\/strong> of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg was accompanied by two horses: Francis Royal<\/strong> placed third and Treffinger’s Superstition Old<\/strong> placed fourth. Moritz Treffinger grew up with the mare and gelding as they both went through their formative years<\/strong>: “This gives me goosebumps. Just incredibly proud, really “- and he could also be happy of himself because he received the Golden Riding Badge<\/strong> immediately following the St. Georg Special* S5 test. He said in an excited voice, “It’s a gigantic childhood dream<\/strong> that has just come true.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall Success<\/b><\/h2>\n

Organisers Francois Kasselmann<\/strong> and Dr. Werner Hildenbrand<\/strong>, the first chairman of the Ludwigsburg Riding and Driving Club, came to a resoundingly good conclusion<\/strong> following four days of outstanding dressage riding. Both are confident that it will keep going<\/strong> and get even better, bigger, and stronger. As a result, they are already planning to construct a grandstand<\/strong> to accommodate the large number of attendees. Hildenbrand thanked the numerous dedicated assistants<\/strong> from his club and stated, “I’ve already said that people would be requesting to come<\/strong> here next year – and that demonstrates the quality<\/strong> behind this. The dressage festival would lose part of its cosy atmosphere if they weren’t dedicated.” After just two years, every fan of dressage must now know about the southern insider tip.<\/span><\/p>\n
