Zippy Chippy became famous because in 100 gallop races he was never the first who cross the finish line. This made him a style icon and a crowd favorite.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The bay gelding was born in 1991. He officially competed in 100 races in his career and <strong>won none of them<\/strong>. This was not due to his lack of talent. Because even when he was in front and could have won, he didn&#8217;t want to. He made nonsense, threw the rider off or simply braked.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes it already started in the starting box. He just stayed in it or let his competitors have a huge lead. As a result, betting on him was forbidden and he was<strong> excluded from many races<\/strong>. Only on the track in Northampton Fair was he still allowed to start.<\/p>\n<h2>His story<\/h2>\n<p>At the time, owner Felix Monserrate hoped for great things when he traded his Ford for this horse. Due to his <strong>great pedigree<\/strong> with horses like Man o&#8217;War, La Troienne and Ben Brush, a great racing career was actually preprogrammed.<\/p>\n<p>Zippy Chipy wrote career, but differently than Felix Monserrate hoped for. The unique way of the horse and the consistency to lose made him the<strong> most popular loser<\/strong> in racing. During his &#8220;career&#8221; he was included in the list of the most interesting personalities of the year in 2000 and a book was written about him.<\/p>\n<p>He finished his last race in 2004 and a few months later he retired. At the age of 19 he moved into his residence in Cabin Creek. Last week, a few days before his 31st birthday, he died. Many people are saddened by his death.
