We use so-called “cookies” on our website. These are small text files which are sent to your computer by our web server when you call up our Internet pages in order to store certain information (e.g. features for identification, adaptation of the user interface or functions for integrated social networks). If you visit a page belonging to our website or the same page again, these cookies can be evaluated by us or our advertising partners. However, our website can only send cookies to your computer if you allow this in your browser settings.

The cookies we use serve various purposes:
Technically necessary cookies
These cookies are used for the technical provision of our internet services. In particular, they are necessary to enable you to perform certain functions, such as logging in to your user account or playing video or audio content, to identify your browser for the duration of the visit, including calling up various pages, to determine the speed of your Internet access necessary for the provision of content or to call up personal settings. Furthermore, we use these cookies for billing purposes, in particular to measure the usage volume of free content required for this purpose.
Analytical cookies
We use these cookies for statistical analysis of the use of our website, including the recording of new and returning visitors, to estimate the number of unique visitors, to determine the most important search terms that lead to our website via search engines or to detect display and navigation problems on our website.
Cookies for displaying personalised advertising / tracking
We use cookies to display content and advertisements tailored to your interests. For this purpose, we use cookies to record your interests on the basis of your usage behaviour on our Internet pages. For this purpose, it is also possible to record your usage behaviour across different Internet pages.
Third-party cookies
Third-party cookies (“third-party cookies”) are cookies that can be used and evaluated by other providers. Such third-party providers can be companies that are responsible for the displayed advertising or operate social networks. With your consent, we allow our partners to send cookies to your browser via our website and to evaluate them during the further use of online services.

Using these cookies, advertisements optimised for you according to relevance are displayed in particular. Our affiliated marketers and advertising partners collect isolated and pseudonymised data about your usage behaviour. This includes, for example, search terms used, data about the websites you visit, the offers used there or advertising banners clicked on. The pseudonymised data does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person. Your IP address transmitted when using our website is completely anonymised and not used for the usage-based placement of advertising.

For further details on the use of cookies by third-party providers, please refer to the explanations in section VI of this declaration. In addition to the service providers listed there, other companies may send cookies to your browser for the purpose of usage-based online advertising. You can find more information on this and the possibility of deactivating these cookies under the link: https://www.youronlinechoices.com/de/praferenzmanagement

The cookies used on our website have different durations. The “session cookies” used are automatically deleted when you close the browser you are using. In contrast, persistent cookies remain active on your computer until the expiry of a preset period (minutes, days or even years).

The presentation of our website is also possible without the storage of cookies. You can deactivate the storage of cookies in the settings of your browser or set it in such a way that it informs you of the intended storage by an Internet site. In this case, you decide whether to accept the cookie. However, for the full functionality of our website, it is necessary to allow cookies completely for technical reasons.
Data Protection Manager (Privacy Manager)
Use of web analysis tools

Google Universal Analytics
On our website, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In the event that IP anonymisation is activated on our website, however, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
On our behalf, Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to ehorses. The IP address transmitted by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

In addition, we use the following Google Analytics functions:
Display advertising
Remarketing
Reports on impressions in the Google Display Network
Google Analytics reports on performance by demographic characteristics and interests, and
User ID
You can disable Google Analytics for display advertising and customise ads on the Google Display Network by customising your ad settings at https://www.google.de/settings/ads. By using remarketing with Google Analytics for Online Advertising, we serve ads on third-party websites, including Google. This involves the use of cookies by us and third-party providers, including Google. In particular, this includes the combined use of first-party cookies (e.g. Google Analytics cookies) and third-party cookies (e.g. DoubleClick cookies) based on your previous visits to our website and targeting, optimising and serving ads on this basis.
This also means that we link ad impressions, other uses of ad services and interactions with these ad impressions and ad services to your visits to our website and thereby influence their future delivery. Google also uses interest-based advertising for this purpose. The data thus obtained and the visitor data from third-party providers (e.g. age, gender and interests) are recorded and analysed by us in Google Analytics. They are also used for ad impressions, other uses of ad services and interactions with these ad impressions and ad services. Under no circumstances will this data be merged with other personal data. Remarketing in the form described is not limited to your use of our websites with one end device, but enables us to display interest-based advertising across devices.
We use the User ID function to collect data on usage behaviour on different end devices (e.g. tablet, notebook, smartphone) and on the occasion of different sessions and assign it to a User ID. This allows us to control and measure marketing activities independently of the device and according to specific needs. The assignment of the user ID and the evaluation of the usage behaviour is exclusively anonymised.
You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of our website (incl. your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

You also have the option of preventing the collection of data by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link Deactivate Google Analytics. An OptOut cookie will then be set on your terminal device, which prevents the future collection of your data when you visit our website.
In view of the discussion about the use of analysis tools with complete IP addresses, we would like to point out that this website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymizeIp()” and therefore IP addresses are only processed in abbreviated form in order to exclude direct personal references.
Google Conversion Tracking
On our website we use Google AdWords, an online advertising service of Google Inc. (“Google”). If you access our website via a Google ad, Google will store a cookie on your computer (a so-called “conversion cookie”). This cookie loses its validity after 30 days. If you call up one of our Internet pages within this period, we can recognise with the help of Google Adwords that someone has been redirected to our Internet page by clicking on the advertisement. Each Google Adwords customer receives a different cookie. The cookies can therefore not be tracked across the websites of different Adwords customers. With the help of the “conversion cookie”, Google will use the information collected on our behalf to create conversion statistics for us. Through these statistics, we learn the total number of users who clicked on our ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, we do not receive any information that personally identifies users.
If you do not wish to participate in the tracking procedure, you can refuse the storage of the cookie required for this. To do this, you can generally deactivate the automatic setting of cookies in your browser settings. You can also deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain “googleadservices.com”.

You can find out more details about data processing by Google Inc. and the technologies used in the process at the following link: http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/partners/
Google Re/Marketing Services
We use the marketing and marketing services of Google Inc. on the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our online offer within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO) the marketing and remarketing services (in short “Google Marketing Services”) of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, (“Google”).
Google is certified under the Privacy Shield agreement and thereby offers a guarantee of compliance with European data protection law (https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active).

Google’s marketing services allow us to display advertisements for and on our website in a more targeted manner in order to present users only with ads that potentially match their interests. If, for example, a user is shown ads for products in which he or she was interested on other websites, this is referred to as “remarketing”. For these purposes, when our website and other websites on which Google marketing services are active are called up, a code is executed directly by Google and so-called (re)marketing tags (invisible graphics or code, also known as “web beacons”) are integrated into the website. With their help, an individual cookie, i.e. a small file, is stored on the user’s device (comparable technologies can also be used instead of cookies). The cookies can be set by various domains, including google.com, doubleclick.net, invitemedia.com, admeld.com, googlesyndication.com or googleadservices.com. This file records which websites the user has visited, which content he or she is interested in and which offers he or she has clicked on, as well as technical information on the browser and operating system, referring websites, time of visit and other information on the use of the online offer. The IP address of the user is also recorded, whereby we inform Google Analytics that the IP address is shortened within Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and only in exceptional cases is transmitted in full to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address will not be merged with user data within other Google offerings. The aforementioned information may also be combined by Google with such information from other sources. If the user subsequently visits other websites, he or she may be shown ads tailored to his or her interests.
The user’s data is processed pseudonymously as part of Google’s marketing services. This means that Google does not store and process the name or email address of the user, for example, but processes the relevant data in a cookie-related manner within pseudonymous user profiles. I.e. from Google’s perspective, the ads are not managed and displayed for a specifically identified person, but for the cookie holder, regardless of who this cookie holder is. This does not apply if a user has expressly allowed Google to process the data without this pseudonymisation. The information collected about users by Google marketing services is transmitted to Google and stored on Google’s servers in the USA.
The Google marketing services we use include the online advertising programme “Google AdWords”. In the case of Google AdWords, each AdWords customer receives a different “conversion cookie”. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. The information obtained with the help of the cookie is used to create conversion statistics for AdWords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. The AdWords customers learn the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page tagged with a conversion tracking tag. However, they do not receive any information that can be used to personally identify users.
We may integrate third-party advertisements based on the Google marketing service “DoubleClick”. DoubleClick uses cookies to enable Google and its partner websites to serve ads based on users’ visits to this website or other websites on the Internet.
We may include third-party advertisements based on Google’s “AdSense” marketing service. AdSense uses cookies to enable Google and its partner websites to serve ads based on users’ visits to this website or other websites on the Internet.
We may also use the “Google Optimize” service. Google Optimize allows us to track the effects of various changes to a website (e.g. changes to the input fields, design, etc.) within the framework of so-called “A/B testing”. For these testing purposes, cookies are placed on the users’ devices. Only pseudonymised data of the users is processed.

Furthermore, we may use the “Google Tag Manager” to integrate and manage Google analysis and marketing services on our website.
For more information about Google’s use of data for marketing purposes, please visit the overview page: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads, Google’s privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
If you wish to object to interest-based advertising by Google marketing services, you can use the settings and opt-out options provided by Google: https://adssettings.google.com/authenticated.
VG Wort

Cookies and reports on access figures
We use “session cookies” from VG Wort, Munich, to measure access to texts in order to record the probability of copying. Session cookies are small units of information that a provider stores in the RAM of the visitor’s computer. A randomly generated unique identification number, a so-called session ID, is stored in a session cookie. In addition, a cookie contains information about its origin and the storage period. Session cookies cannot store any other data. These measurements are carried out by INFOnline GmbH according to the Scalable Central Measurement Method (SZM). They help to determine the copy probability of individual texts for the remuneration of legal claims of authors and publishers. We do not collect personal data via cookies.
Many of our pages are equipped with JavaScript calls through which we report accesses to the Verwertungsgesellschaft Wort (VG Wort). In this way, we enable our authors to participate in the distributions of the VG Wort, which ensure the statutory remuneration for the use of copyrighted works in accordance with § 53 UrhG.
It is also possible to use our services without cookies. Most browsers are set to accept cookies automatically. However, you can deactivate the storage of cookies or set your browser to notify you as soon as cookies are sent.
Data protection declaration on the use of the Scalable Central Measuring System

Web offerings
Our website and our mobile web offer use the “Scalable Central Measuring Method” (SZM) of INFOnline GmbH (https://www.infonline.de) to determine statistical characteristic values for determining the copy probability of texts.
In the process, anonymous measurement values are collected. The access count measurement alternatively uses a session cookie or a signature created from various automatically transmitted information from your browser to recognise computer systems. IP addresses are only processed in anonymised form.
The procedure was developed with due regard for data protection. The sole aim of the procedure is to determine the copying probability of individual texts.
At no time are individual users identified. Your identity always remains protected. You will not receive any advertising via the system.

Newsletter

With the following information we inform you about the contents of our newsletter as well as the registration, dispatch and statistical evaluation procedure and your rights of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to receive it and to the procedures described.
Content of the newsletter: We send newsletters, e-mails and other electronic notifications with promotional information (hereinafter “newsletter”) only with the consent of the recipients or a legal permission. If the contents of the Newsletter are specifically described in the course of registration, they are decisive for the consent of the users. Apart from that, our newsletters contain information about our products, offers, promotions and our company.
Double opt-in and logging: Registration for our newsletter is carried out in a so-called double opt-in process. This means that after registration you will receive an e-mail in which you are asked to confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary so that no one can register with other email addresses. The registrations for the newsletter are logged in order to be able to prove the registration process in accordance with the legal requirements. This includes the storage of the registration and confirmation time as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored with the dispatch service provider are also logged.
Dispatch service provider: The newsletter is dispatched by Mailjet SAS, 13-13 bis, rue de l’Aubrac, 75012 Paris, France. You can view the data protection provisions of the dispatch service provider here: https://www.mailjet.de/privacy-policy/. The shipping service provider is used on the basis of our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO and an order processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 Para. 3 p. 1 DSGVO.
Furthermore, according to its own information, the dispatch service provider may use this data in pseudonymous form, i.e. without assigning it to a user, to optimise or improve its own services, e.g. to technically optimise the dispatch and presentation of the newsletter or for statistical purposes to determine which countries the recipients come from. However, the dispatch service provider does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to write to them itself or to pass them on to third parties.
Registration data: To register for the newsletter, it is sufficient to enter your e-mail address. Optionally, we ask you to enter a name in order to address you personally in the newsletter.
Performance measurement – The newsletters contain a so-called “web beacon”, i.e. a pixel-sized file that is retrieved from the server of the dispatch service provider when the newsletter is opened. Within the scope of this retrieval, technical information, such as information on the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the time of the retrieval are initially collected. This information is used for the technical improvement of the services on the basis of the technical data or the target groups and their reading behaviour on the basis of their retrieval locations (which can be determined with the help of the IP address) or the access times. Statistical surveys also include determining whether newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, it is neither our intention nor that of the dispatch service provider to observe individual users. The analyses serve us much more to recognise the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.
The dispatch of the newsletter and the measurement of its success are based on the consent of the recipients in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a, Art. 7 DSGVO in conjunction with § 7 Para. 2 No. 3 UWG or on the basis of the legal permission in accordance with § 7 Para. 3 UWG.
The logging of the registration process is based on our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO and serves as proof of consent to receive the newsletter.
Cancellation/revocation – You can cancel receipt of our newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. You will find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter. If users have only subscribed to the newsletter and cancelled this subscription, their personal data will be deleted.
a. Integration of third-party services and content

We use content or service offers of third party providers within our online offer on the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our online offer within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. DSGVO). DSGVO) to integrate content or services offered by third-party providers, such as videos or fonts (hereinafter uniformly referred to as “content”). This always requires that the third-party providers of this content are aware of the IP address of the user, as without the IP address they would not be able to send the content to their browser. The IP address is therefore necessary for the display of this content. We endeavour to only use content whose respective providers only use the IP address to deliver the content. Third-party providers may also use so-called pixel tags (invisible graphics, also known as “web beacons”) for statistical or marketing purposes. The “pixel tags” can be used to evaluate information such as visitor traffic on the pages of this website. The pseudonymous information may also be stored in cookies on the user’s device and may contain, among other things, technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, time of visit and other information about the use of our online offer, as well as being linked to such information from other sources.

The following presentation provides an overview of third-party providers and their content, together with links to their data protection declarations, which contain further information on the processing of data and, in part already mentioned here, options for objection (so-called opt-out):

If our customers use the payment services of third parties (e.g. PayPal or Sofortüberweisung), the terms and conditions and the data protection notices of the respective third party providers apply, which can be accessed within the respective websites or transaction applications.

The service includes the sending of the IP address and any other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. The deviating data protection regulations of Google Inc. apply here. Further information on the data protection guidelines of Google Inc. can be found at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to Google’s servers. This informs Google that our website has been accessed via your IP address. Google Web Fonts are used in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used. E. What is the legal basis for processing your data?

We process your personal data in compliance with the requirements of the European Data Protection Regulation (DS-GVO) and the national regulations on data protection (Federal Data Protection Act) to achieve the following purposes:
We process your personal data for the purpose of providing the content within our internet pages for retrieval by the user. The processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. b) DS-GVO.
The same applies to the processing of personal data on the occasion of the handling of your requests communicated via contact form or otherwise.
We also process your personal data for the purpose of processing contracts concluded with us (individual purchases and subscriptions) and for processing complaints. This processing is based on Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. b) DS-GVO.
We also process your personal data if you have given us your consent to do so. In this case, the processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a) DS-GVO. When obtaining consent, we will inform you of the specific purpose of the intended processing. You can revoke consent given to us at any time with effect for the future. This also applies to consent that you gave before 25 May 2018. We will inform you about the possibility of revoking consent in each case when consent is given.

In addition, those departments that process your personal data on the basis of a legitimate interest, such as our marketing department for the interest-based display of advertisements, receive your personal data.

In the event of a necessary transfer to third parties (e.g. in the context of a product test or competition), we will obtain separate consent from you. Otherwise, no data will be passed on to third parties.
G. Will your data be transferred by us to an international organisation or to a third country?

We have involved the above-mentioned technical service providers in the processing of your data. Insofar as these process the personal data of the users of our website in a country outside the states of the European Union (“third country”), we have indicated this to the relevant service provider.
If, in the future, we commission additional or other service providers to operate these websites that process the data of the users of our websites in a country that is not a member state of the European Union, this will only be done if it is established on the basis of a decision by the European Commission that an adequate level of protection exists in the third country in question (Article 45 of the GDPR) or, in the absence of such a decision, suitable guarantees exist for the protection of your data and enforceable rights and effective legal remedies are available to you (Article 46 of the GDPR). In any case, we enter into a commissioned processing agreement with these service providers based on the EU standard contractual clauses before transferring personal data.
